The Senior Manager of Operations position located in Princeton, New Jersey plays a highly visible, key leadership role in ensuring the successful execution of all site Operations functions for the site Defense portfolio. The successful Senior Operations Manager will leverage their leadership and experience to ensure the operations and manufacturing team of 35 personnel is aligned on strategic and tactical goals to meet operational commitments and assist in expanding a $48M business. In this role, you will be responsible for production, manufacturing, test and process engineering, master scheduling, material planning for the site.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for achieving the financial goals of the value stream through achievement of operational output. Drive cost reduction projects and management of controllable overhead costs. Achieve and maintain a level loaded factory and work with Materials and Quality management to improve manufacturing productivity. Drive execution of manufacturing operations strategy to ensure all programs are executed in a manner that meets or exceeds cost, quality and schedule requirements. Manage policy deployment in the areas of operational excellence, continuous improvement, cost reduction, on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and value stream performance measures. Work with Facilities and EH&S Management to ensure safe and continuous operation of all facilities. Manage direct, indirect, and capital budget performance. Initiate and coordinate major operations related projects (e.g., strategic changes to processes skills and facilities to meet future business needs, Major initiatives etc.) Ensure compliance to company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, safety, and on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost. Develop and formulate long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives. Provide leadership through developing culture of accountability Participate as a member of the Site Leadership Team to effectively run the business while developing short and long term strategies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of engineering and/or operations experience and more than 3 years in a managerial position involving strategic planning activities, managing diverse groups of highly skilled employees, and interfacing at all levels throughout the organization.

  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities with a results-oriented mindset. Strong written and verbal communication skills across the organization at both the working and senior leadership levels. Individual who leads by example and has a Participative Management philosophy

  • Master’s degree in science or business. Experience in electronics manufacturing and foundry technologies.

  • Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) experience. Demonstrated experience implementing world class manufacturing techniques.

  • Certified in Lean manufacturing or Six-Sigma with demonstrated ability to establish and mature a Continuous Improvement culture.

  • Experience with single piece flow in a mixed model production environment.

  • Demonstrated experience with new program introduction.
