JOB DESCRIPTION
Raytheon Company is seeking a Chief Infrastructure Architect to provide overall direction and guidance for the transformation of a sophisticated internet-based research system in a passionate, ever-expanding digital environment. The individual will be a member of a growing team who work closely together to strengthen creative solutions for challenging problems in a friendly, supportive environment. The position is located in Reston, VA.
The Chief Infrastructure Architect acts as the product owner, with responsibility for the overall technical solution transforming all technical capabilities on the program. They work in close coordination with the Program Manager, Sustainment Technical Lead and Sponsor to understand the overall business and systems drivers and provide technical guidance in the design, development, integration and delivery of system capabilities. This position centers on all aspects of the infrastructure including architecture, engineering, design, installation, configuration and security compliance. It requires an experienced, hands-on technical architect with a range of experiences including virtualization, datacenter, co-location/Cloud, storage, networking, security, mobile emulation, Windows, and Linux.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The Chief Infrastructure Architect shall meet the following core qualifications:
•
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field related to the position (Computer Science, Information/Systems Engineering, or other technical discipline) or 3 years specialized systems, infrastructure, or enterprise architecture equivalency.
•
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in systems or infrastructure architecture or engineering (design, development, implementation, management)
•
Minimum five (5) years’ systems engineering experience with Windows and Linux Operating Systems, Networks and Networking protocols
•
Minimum three (3) years’ experience leading projects using misattributed research networks and internet technology projects
•
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in cloud-based IT systems or hybrid cloud delivery models designing, developing in, or transitioning systems and processes to the cloud
Desired qualifications:
•
Master’s Degree in a technical field related to the position
•
Experience designing, upgrading, and sustaining Sponsor’s misattribution internet, mission, or enterprise networks
•
Experience designing and developing automation and orchestration services
•
Experience designing, installing, operating, and maintaining virtual environments/services to include OS virtualization, VDI, Desktop as a Service (DaaS), and software defined services
•
Knowledge of applicable Sponsor network security and technology policies and procedures
•
Experience with various scripting languages
•
Experience with engineering and troubleshooting Cisco networking hardware and software
•
Experience with designing, developing, and managing a hyper-converged infrastructure capabilities and technologies such as Nutanix or HP Simplivity
•
Experience in dash boarding, data visualization, and reporting, to include experience with log management, event correlation, and monitoring technologies such as SolarWinds, Splunk, and Prism
•
Certifications in areas related to the position such as:
o
Technical Cisco Certified Network Professional
o
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
o
Linux Certification (RedHat RHCE 6.x, 7.x)
o
Certified Nutanix Professional
Must be a US Citizen and have an active TS/SCI clearance with poly on day one of employment. Must be cross-over eligible.
