Raytheon Technologies Full Stack SW Lead in Richardson, Texas

Raytheon Intelligence and Space, located in Richardson, Texas (Cityline) is looking for a candidate to join our world-class engineering team as a Full Stack Software Lead (Principal Software Engineer). As a candidate for this opportunity you should have a good foundation in Java and extensive experience working in a LINUX or UNIX environment. The candidate should have a demonstrable understanding of software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering (including software development lifecycle and software development process), design patterns and Object Oriented analysis, design, and programming, The selected candidate will perform the activities involved with the requirements gathering, design, development, documenting, interfacing, integration, testing, maintenance, and modification of complex software applications. The candidate must also be able to work from within the Raytheon Technologies facility in Richardson, TX.

The selected candidate must have an active TS/SCI clearance.

This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $12,000 for a candidate with a current TS/SCI that can be verified and hired at RIS.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Planning, coordination and achievement of control account work/tasks

  • Understanding the integration of technical scope, schedule and budget

  • Demonstrate strong and effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats

  • Collaborate with peer organizations like system engineering, infrastructure, security engineering and quality assurance

  • Measurement of work progress, collection of actual costs, analysis of variances and the initiation of corrective actions

  • Investigate and resolve support issues and contribute to the program’s continuous process improvements

  • Partner with managers and stakeholders to drive projects forward

    Required Skills:

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience developing complex software solutions in Java in a LINUX or UNIX environment

  • 4+ years of SW leadership experience (team lead, technical lead)

  • Experience developing software using Agile development methodologies and DevOps

  • Experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Release Train Engineer (RTE SAFe).

  • Ability to design, develop and status a schedule that supports implementation of the requirements

  • Ability to provide direction and task management of up to 12 software engineers

  • Ability to support both lead and individual contributor tasks, if needed

  • Ability to identify and utilize effective measures for execution

  • Ability to perform bids and proposals for additional follow-on work

  • Ability to own the budget and schedule for the SW team under your control

  • Active/Current TS/SCI security clearance

    Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Atlassian/Jira toolset for the management of tasks

  • Object oriented software design, code and test experience

  • Experience developing and deploying distributed cloud-based applications

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Technologies

  • AWS cloud certifications is highly desired

  • Experience using continuous integration tools such as Hudson/Jenkins or Cruise Control

  • Experience with automated testing, build automation and dependency management tools

  • Experience with product like Kafka, Elk, Splunk, & Redis

  • Experience with applications interfacing with Postgres and Mongo databases

  • Containerization experience with Kuberenetes and/or Docker

  • Java SME with Advanced Java Applications

    Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required, Master’s degree in STEM desired
