Job Description: Raytheon Intelligence & Space EO Innovations Team located in Richardson, TX is currently searching for a university graduate with an interest and desire to pursue a career as an Optical Engineer. Desired candidate would have some experience with optical design and analysis tools, interest and/or experience in optical systems design & tolerancing, optical fabrication, and testing.
Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:
Assignments may include optical design & analysis, stray light analysis, optical tolerancing, prototype development with optical component suppliers, optical testing, troubleshooting for EO systems, and providing solutions to a variety of EO problems
Work within a teaming environment, with senior leadership, while exercising responsibility in meeting the technical, financial and schedule objectives of assigned projects
Working with multi-discipline teams supporting military programs through the application of optical design tools in the development and production phases of optical sensors
Collaborate with other engineers, operations, program management and functional groups to deliver quality products on time at or below cost.
Security Clearance & Other Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Experience in optical design & analysis (class projects, internships, etc.)
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong desire to learn and contribute in a team based environment
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)
Experience with technical software such as CodeV & FRED
Knowledge and/or work experience in optical design and analysis, infrared systems, optical tolerancing, fabrication, and testing
Class projects, professional internships, or academic research demonstrating the ability to apply technical course work or computer software skills
Experience writing computer code
Experience leading teams toward a common goals
Active DoD issued security clearance
- Must have a BS / BA with a major in Optical, Electrical, or other related field by Summer 2021.
