About the Raytheon Technologies Fellowship Program:

Seeking students in the second semester of their sophomore year (but program is also open to current juniors).

Upon program acceptance, participants will be submitted for a national security clearance. Once security clearance has been granted, interns will work part time during their junior and senior years, supporting RIS’s programs from the Richardson campus.

Working part-time for RIS prior to obtaining the security clearance is an option depending on the student's desire and the hiring department’s ability to provide appropriate work.

During Summer 2021, participants will work on-site at the RIS facility in

Richardson, TX

completing an internship consisting of professional development, training, mentorship, and networking.

Participants will receive a $10,000 signing bonus upon acceptance to the program and an additional $10,000 signing bonus upon converting to full-time employee status post-graduation.

Participants will sign an offer agreement, committing to remain with RIS for a minimum of two years after becoming a full-time employee.

Work as a software developer and integrator as part of a development team which utilizes a diverse dynamic workforce, including many experts in their fields. Specific duties include:

Responsible for performing development, integration, test and documentation duties to ensure proper operation of hardware and software platforms

Integrate a wide variety of applications from various sources, integrate and ensure they meet performance standards for stability and resource utilization

Develop software as necessary to integrate between components, perform new capabilities, to facilitate testing, etc.

Adhere to accepted standards for development, including writing unit tests which provide a high percentage of code overage, participating in code peer reviews, conducting design reviews , and generating test plans to ensure maximum stability and quality of code

Required Experience:

Software development experience with Java

Computer Science students must have completed courses CS1050 and CS2050; other majors eligible through demonstrated programming experience

This position requires U.S. citizenship and the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.

Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Desired Experience:

Software development experience with C++ or C#

Experience with scripting languages such as Javascript, Python or Ruby and familiarity with a Javascript framework such as AngularJS, jQuery, or Backbone.js

Experience with version control software such as Clearcase or GIT

Experience with continuous integration tools such as Hudson/Jenkins or Cruise Control

Experience or familiar with Agile development practices

Required Education

Must be currently attending the University of Texas at Dallas working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.

Computer Science students must have completed courses CS1050 and CS2050; other majors eligible through demonstrated programming experience

Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Must have obtained Sophomore, Junior or Senior status as of summer 2021. This position will be hired at the appropriate salary grade based on completed hours of college credit towards the required degree.

Sophomore Intern (ST02 TechStudent-Sophomore) – must have completed 30 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Sophomore status as of Summer 2021.

Junior Intern (ST03 TechStudent–Junior) – must have completed 60 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Junior status as of Summer 2021.

Senior Intern (ST04 TechStudent-Senior) – must have completed 90 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Senior status as of Summer 2021.

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
