The Associate Director – New Technologies for the Electric Power Systems (“EPS”) business plays a key role in helping us REDEFINE AEROSPACE. This role will provide leadership in identifying technology trends for more electric aircraft including electric propulsion technologies, developing technology strategies, and managing a selection of technology development projects. This will include engaging with customers, partners, and suppliers to ensure Collins Aerospace strategies are aligned with market expectations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify strategic priorities to ensure Collins is market ready in collaboration with the business development team.

  • Evaluate competitiveness of Collins strategies with industry trends and advocate for alternate strategies where necessary.

  • Engage with technology experts within Collins and Raytheon Technologies to ensure emerging technologies are understood and factored into strategic plans.

  • Drive technology development plans for more electric technologies at the component and subsystem levels.

  • Identify, pursue, and execute technology demonstration programs with external organizations and prospective customers.

  • Demonstrate technical leadership in communicating business priorities, strategies, programs, and processes.

  • Present project plans, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior business leaders

    Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years’ experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace Industry experience

  • Experience with disruptive technologies and/or hybrid electric propulsion

  • Demonstrated technical contributions regarding high power, high voltage electrical systems

  • Demonstrated engineering & integration of complex systems
