This position is for a Senior Engineering professional with technical expertise in Chapter 24 Electric Power Systems and applicable Systems Engineering Development process.

Two complementary roles are combined in this position.

Drive the effective application of model based systems engineering practices to electric power system development.

Lead the development and maintenance of Systems Engineering Development Processes that fully comply with the safety and operational requirements of Civil and Military Aviation standards/specification and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develops MBSE methodologies that efficiently addresses the aircraft safety and system development processes called out in customer requirements flow-down such as ARP4761/ARP4754A.

Provides clear, sustainable and cost effective direction for requirements decomposition, validation and verification at System and product implementation levels.

Supports the best practice application and sharing of best practices within the larger Power and Controls/Collins community.

Pursues all cost-saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.

Performs critical path analysis and prepares and implements work-around plans to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Supports the preparation of proposals, business plans, technology roadmaps and is the initiator/Manager of all Systems Kaizen Events addressing MBSE and System lifecycle process definition.

Provides direct program support as required including representing Systems as ARP4754A Validation and Verification Discipline Chief during key Audits and Technical Coordination meetings.

Monitors and assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.

Mentors engineers formally/informally in practices supporting MBSE.

Develops training material for MBSE and works with programs during all phases to ensure that Systems life cycle processes are followed.

Working member of Systems Engineering Process Group and Process Assurance Team.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience


Advance degree and 7 years of relevant experience


In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of project lead experience

Experience with scheduling and managing a budget

Previous design experience

Previous Modeling and simulation experience

Previous experience in a customer facing role
