Collins Aerospace is seeking a Project Lead to support the Electric Power Systems (EPS) System Integration Labs. The System Integration Labs provide aircraft systems for multiple programs and projects to run development and qualification testing, as well as aircraft investigations. This position includes the creation and management of comprehensive schedules, tracking of key deliverables, management of lab user expectations, oversight of contractor resources, and management of PO’s.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all lab documentation has the appropriate ITC markings and is filed in appropriate program directories.

  • Assess lab issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and lab user satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Facilitate technical investigation with engineers to identify root causes of lab failures and implement corrective actions.

  • Responsible for scheduling preventative maintenance activities.

  • Support the ESBU Lab EH&S Safety Committee and Oversight Council.

  • Ensure EH&S Policy, Cardinal Rules, and requirements are understood and adhered to.

  • Perform Safety Test Readiness Review (STRR) for new Test Setup release.

  • Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Regulations are followed.

  • Create Work Orders for Facilities support of Customer/Program demand and recommend substitutes when required.

  • Place Orders for Spare Parts and Equipment to support Customer needs.

  • Support Calibration Lab and Test Equipment Requests for Configuration Control.

  • Asset Inventory Control Coordination of Collins, Govt, and Customer owned Test Equipment.

  • Conduct safety walk through and training evaluation and records for System Labs access.

  • Ensure that all System Labs personnel are following safety rules, and that the equipment they use is in safe condition

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to be onsite at test facilities

  • Experience working within fast-paced environments, ability to handle real-time situations, adapt to rapid change of direction and coordinate multiple projects in parallel

  • Experience working in a lab environment

  • Experience leading and working with multidisciplinary teams

  • Experience with qualification and certification of aircraft systems and components
