We are looking for a Product Cost Lead to support the Power & Controls Team.

This position supports a wide variety of tasks within our Power & Controls Product Cost Group of Collins. Candidate will work with a highly experienced cross functional team of individuals to identify and complete cost reduction projects and business unit critical transitions that have a direct financial impact to the company.

This position will be directly supporting the Cost Management Group. As the Product Cost Lead, the candidate will work with new development programs to track, identify and manage cost reduction opportunities and will work closely with the program office and IPD teams.

Geographical Specification:

  • Position has the ability to work 100% remote

    Primary Responsibilities:

  • Working with Integrated Product Development teams during development

  • Tracking visible cost for the program

  • Leading/participating in cost reduction events

  • Working and tracking actions to closure

  • Identifying opportunities for cost reduction

  • Represent Power & Controls Product Cost Group in management reviews

  • Data analysis and should costing

  • Development of tools to support design and cost reduction activities

This lead position also supports Power & Controls transitions as required. This role provides project management support for execution of product transitions from one manufacturing site to another.

Responsibilities include:

  • Estimating of project costs and development of business cases for transitions

  • Developing of detailed product transition plans

  • Execution of Transition Standard Work

  • Problem resolution

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or related field

  • Operations, Producibility or Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cost Engineering experience

  • Aerospace product experience, Collins Power & Controls product experience preferred

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Product cost, cost reduction, standard setting, time & motion setting experience

  • Procurement experience with other technical background/experience

  • Project Management experience

  • SAP or other ERP/MRP system experience

  • Excel Skills with formulas, data manipulation, and VBA or comparable programming language experience

  • Computer/IT experience with relational databases and data mining tools
