We are looking for a Production Software Engineer to support Electric Power Systems production.

The role of a Production Software Engineer is to provide technical day-to-day support, as well as driving software improvements and reliability projects for our production equipment. This position works with internal customers, trades, and shared services staff in providing technical assistance and expertise in maintaining existing equipment and helping define and implement future production equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Researches, develops, architects, builds, and tests various software across all production equipment and systems

  • Defines solutions and produces them to specifications using the most cost effective and efficient means.

  • Supports legacy test software (ODACS) as well as new platform (NI LabView)

  • Develops technical documentation to support the production team

  • Provides software code reviews

  • Responsible for Timing and Stack & Memory analyses

  • Ability to read and interpret equipment and wiring schematics

  • Understands the logic of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems for test or maintenance of parts or systems

  • Gathers and reviews data concerning equipment specifications, and company or customer requirements as required.

  • Understands customer specifications to confirm operations according to necessary regulations to ensure production quality

  • Ensures proper functioning of equipment through ongoing software support and maintenance.

  • Provides training to operators and fellow technicians to ensure equipment is being used properly

  • Supports legacy test software (ODACS) as well as new platform (NI LabView)

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

  • Must be U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • LabView experience

  • Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow experience

  • Experience with C/C++, Python

  • Strong understanding of software principles

  • Previous experience with ODACS, our legacy software platform

  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing testing equipment

  • Aerospace software development

  • Understanding of Software Qualifications per DO-178B/C
