In this role you will work with a team of quality engineers to support our daily production operations in the Electric Power Systems Business Unit located in Rockford, Illinois. You will become an expert problem solver by understanding production issues in our assembly processes, determining root causes of problems, and implementing solutions to solve those problems. You will learn to proactively manage product quality by developing process control plans such as PFMEA’s, designing engineering solutions such as tools and fixtures for production processes, and managing projects to implement solutions for problems. You will also get to work with other Quality groups within Collins Aerospace to help solve customer issues from the field and work with them to implement solutions to those problems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead Root Cause Problem Solving for production operations

  • Understand engineering drawings to help determine root cause

  • Design engineering countermeasures

  • Project Management to implement solutions

  • Communication project status to multiple levels within organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have at least 30 credits completed by the start of the session.
