This position owns the planning and execution of the key elements of Quality for the Rockford Mission Systems site. This position leads a team of Quality Compliance, Program Quality, and Manufacturing Quality professionals. This role sets the strategic and tactical plans for the achievement of near- and long-term initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and manages plans, guidelines, policies, and processes, to ensure the achievement of quality targets.

  • Leads implementation of organization projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving.

  • Oversees quality improvement processes to ensure on-going reductions in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes.

  • Manages teams collecting and analyzing quality information from multiple sources to develop long-term quality strategy and programs.

  • Manages teams providing production process analyses, ensuring quality standards are met and making recommendations for quality improvement.

  • Manages team in efforts to develop and implement program quality plans and procedures.

  • Leads implementation of procedures and metrics that support compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

  • Manages teams providing expertise and guidance in interpreting policies, government regulations and agency guidelines to ensure compliance with external standards.

  • Develops and manages processes, standards, and plans for the implementation of minimum standards and utilization of tools and methods to ensure effectiveness of existing quality processes and sustainment of quality performance improvements.

  • Leads team in the planning and execution of programmatic Quality requirements.

  • Interfaces with customer counterparts to resolve issues and create Quality improvement plans.

  • Leads site ZDP initiatives.

  • Manages reviews of procedures and metrics that impact quality throughout the organization, ensuring compliance with internal standards.

  • Prepares and maintains Quality documentation.

  • Travel time required 10%

  • Working on-site 100% of time

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

  • This position requires 100% on-site presence

    Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing/ aerospace environment

  • Experience leading teams of quality professionals.

  • Experience executing ZDP, ACE or LEAN practices

  • SAP experience

  • Preferred degree/ experience in operations management or engineering background.
