The primary roles and responsibilities include the design, development of electrical test equipment utilized in the testing of commercial and military Aerospace products.
Coordinates and facilitates the fabrication, modification, selection, and evaluation of electrical subsystems, apparatus, and instrumentation & control components for use in test equipment and test processes.
Works as part of a cross-functional engineering team ensuring work is completed on-time, within quality standards, per specifications and contracts, and within budget constraints.
Documents schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications to build and install test stands, test equipment, test support equipment, and facilities infrastructure.
Researches, analyzes, evaluates, and qualifies new or improved components, subsystems, processes, and designs.
Plans, programs, integrates, validates, and updates test equipment data acquisition hardware and application software.
Additionally, it is highly desired that candidates for this position are proficient with NI Labview Software, for the creation and maintenance of automated control software for designed electrical test equipment.
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulation
Must be a U.S. Citizen
This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with NASA Guidelines. Candidate will be in drug pool.
Electrical control circuit design and review experience
Schematic creation using Cadence, Visio or Siemens NX
Data acquisition system design and troubleshooting experience
Qualification testing experience preferred - EMI, Vacuum, Thermal, Corona, Shock, Vibration, Environmental
Instrumentation knowledge and experience - Torque, Flow, Temperature, Pressure, Voltage, Current, Load, etc.
National Instrument hardware familiarity preferred
National Instrument LabView programming experience is a plus
PLC controller and programming language familiarity is a plus
Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, air compressors, motors, etc.
Ability to work with in-house or out of house labor for the build and checkout of test equipment
CAN Bus, RS232, 429 experience is a plus
Aerospace industry experience is preferred
