This position is for an established professional in Customer Service, who works under general supervision in responding to customer calls and serves as the interface between the customer and internal team. Coordinates and monitors communications, performs support tasks, and makes recommendations to improve Customer Service processes. Resolves moderately complex inquiries, escalates complex issues to management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Confers with customers who contact the organization by telephone or electronically, provides information about organization products or services, discusses customer accounts, and obtains and addresses customer complaints.

  • Receives, logs, and distributes customer requests to the appropriate department or personnel. Monitors request status, reports request metrics, and follows up with the customer once complete.

  • Prepares basic quotations for internal review and approval, supports Contracts and Program Management personnel with complex proposals. Submits all quotes and proposals to the customer.

  • Maintains knowledge of UTC organization and products to provide the appropriate information and support to customers.

  • Uses organization and product knowledge to address more difficult inquiries and provide follow up.

  • Researches published materials and secondary sources of information to further define the customer’s needs.

  • Coordinates with and provides support to team members with regard to customer requests and concerns.

  • Develops documentation used to solve difficult customer requests/issues.

  • Serves as customer interface on request status and order delivery

  • Consistently documents customer service needs to identify patterns and maintain quality.

  • Performs duties related to overall customer service.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required

  • Prior customer facing experience

  • Experience with MS Office suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in manufacturing and/or aerospace industries

  • Experience reading technical drawings, technical specifications, and other similar documentation
