Manufacturing Engineer will be assigned to a manufacturing cell and will be responsible for increasing throughput using cycle time and setup reduction techniques; improving quality through use and understanding of critical characteristic process capability measurements, and solving problems as identified during our internal Real Time Problem Solving (RTPR) and Quality Clinic Processes.
Analyzes and modifies product designs in collaboration with Design Engineering to assure manufacturability.
Develops design, selection, specification, and optimization of the required equipment, fixtures, tooling, gaging, processes, and operations.
Determines other technical matters required to make a given product according to the desired volume, timetable, cost, quality level, and other specifications.
Includes the monitoring of established processes via data collection for statistical analysis purposes as well as the use of various continuous improvement enablers.
Designs and develops manufacturing processes for products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research to manufacturing. Such design and development may include new or revised processes.
May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.
Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Machining experience (turning and/or milling)
CNC Programming experience
Prior use and understanding of Process Capability (CpK) for process development
Measurement System Analysis
Root Cause Corrective Action experience
Continuous Improvement / Lean / Six Sigma experience
