Reports to the Regional Manager
Carries out or coordinates assigned technical work. Performs the majority of the tasks required when new devices and services are being introduced to the site. These tasks can include the creation of service manuals for other technicians and the development of first level preventative and corrective maintenance plans. Lead/ Support 1st level Technicians act as the liaison between customers and vendors during installation activities.
Mentors 1st level colleagues in carrying out daily tasks. Verifies daily checks and ensures that all task-oriented deadlines are met and that all problems are carried to a satisfactory end.
On day to day task-oriented activities, serves as key contact for customers on issues requiring extra support or attention.
Is dedicated to servicing the customer’s equipment and provide services such as:
o Corrective maintenance
o Upgrades, software patches, and reimaging
o Guide Preventive maintenance
o Warranty repairs, and OEM logistics
o Asset, spares and consumables management
o Network and local airline telecommunications support
Troubleshooting skills, able to identify hardware errors.
Remains in assigned team area and responds to any trouble calls from within the airport unless instructed otherwise
Is trained in applications usage, enabling the technician to provide end user assistance. May also suggest when additional user training is required.
In most cases is not expected to repair equipment on the spot unless some simple procedure clears the fault. Otherwise the technician will replace the inoperative equipment with a unit from the spares pool and will maintain appropriate records.
