Sr. Field Engineer

The Cyber Engineer will support the operations team and the system Information System Security Officer (ISSO), facilitating the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process in accordance with NIST Special Publication 800-37.
Responsibilities:
Assist the program Assessment and Authorization (A&A) team on authorization package preparation and maintenance
Update RMF authorization packages in eMASS with implementation details for system/site specific security controls
Coordinate, collect, prepare, and maintain RMF body of evidence documentation relevant to operational processes, procedures and site specific information
Communicate and collaborate with development teams, process owners, operations team, and the ISSO to ensure operational procedures and methodologies support security control implementation consistent with current and future cybersecurity system architectures and standards
Develop and update site system description scripts and compliance profiles for Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Authorizing Official (AO)
Assist and guide ISSO on Controls Validation Test (CVT) preparation, readiness, and implementation by identifying, developing, coordinating deliverables for CVT
Prioritize and remedy risks and issues prior to the CVT and coordinate with Security Controls Assessor (SCA) on assessment schedule and activities
Conduct annual security controls assessment to support continuous monitoring
Provide input to Plan of Actions & Milestones (POA&M), Security Assessment Reports (SAR), Risk Assessment Reports (RAR)
Participate in Cooperative Vulnerability and Penetration Assessments (CVPA), review results, and incorporate improvements in operational procedures and documentation
Required Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of NIST SP 800-37, NSIT SP 800-53, DoDI 8500.01, DoDI 8510.01, DoDI 8530.1, DoD 8570.01-M, and CJCSM 6510.01B policies and requirements
Experience in Risk Management Framework (RMF), implementing, assessing, and monitoring security controls
Experience with Cybersecurity Lifecycle to include: generating cyber requirements, configuring cyber audit resources, conducting cyber requirements verification and performing cyber compliance
Sound knowledge and practical experience of Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) and/or Operating Instructions (OIs)
Hands-on experience with security scanners and audit resources
DoD Command and Control system experience to include system architecture, security engineering, and network engineering
Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting of complex/distributed DoD systems
Hands-on experience with security scanners, IDS, and network assessments
Knowledge of POA&M and RAR processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Project, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel
Knowledge of modern computer systems, client/server, LAN/WAN and Network concepts, modern network management and monitoring concepts
Knowledge and proficiency in technical writing
Education Required:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 4 years of professional experience, or equivalent experience/combined education
Must meet certification requirements of DoD 8570 IAT III (CISSP (or Associate), CASP CE, CISA, GCED, GCIH)
Other:
- Position is primarily Mon - Fri, however after hour and weekend support may be required to meet operational mission requirements.
