The Controls Engineer is responsible for developing new technology and improving production processes related to cable harness and integrated assemblies. The engineer will support production through engineering teams that impact cost, quality, and delivery requirements. This will also include managing projects of various scopes.
Drives the research, development, design, and testing of new technology, equipment, systems, and networks to ensure that business objectives and required specifications are met related to production processes.
Oversees the implementation of new electronic/electrical equipment designs and modification and maintenance of existing designs/systems to improve operational efficiency.
Demonstrates knowledge of PLC and HMI programming.
Works with internal/external suppliers of electrical panels/controls to determine overall design and feasibility of manufacturing.
Knowledge, understanding, and awareness of safety requirements and engineered controls
Maintain excellent documentation of changes and follow change management processes
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required

Planning & Organizing: Develops realistic work plans, sets goals, and aligns personal plans/goals with company goals. Manages time well and effectively, including personal attendance and on-time performance.
3 + years’ experience in a comparable engineering role
Relevant experience in implementing the principles of Lean Manufacturing
Ability to read and understand customer/internal documentation, blueprints, and work instructions
Working knowledge of cable and harness assemblies
Experience of Military / Aerospace procedures, specifications, and regulations
Familiarity with the use of Autocad and Solidworks systems
Mitsubishi PLC programming and design
