Job Summary:

Plan, manage and lead all shop floor improvement initiatives, particularly machining and CNC programming activities within Manufacturing Engineering Quality Assurance, (MEQA) structure, to maximize the use of the organization’s technological resources helping enable Manufacturing Operations to meet established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning, organizing and managing of all MEQA–machining and CNC programming related activities/ projects

  • Develop standards for CNC Programmers to adhere to when creating CNC Programs in Siemens NX software. Ensuring quality and safety requirements compliance to local and international quality standards

  • Review engineer's competencies and develop training plan required to uplift CNC Programming capabilities and maximize the adoption of the latest versions of software (Siemens NX, CG-Tech Vericut). Utilizing the latest modules in the applicable software to acquire outcome derived from 3D models.

  • Identify, develop and implement improvement programs for machining and CNC Programming; such as tooling selection, tooling life management, logical back-up tooling planning, proper surface speed, chip loads, programming optimization.

  • Lead machining and CNC Programming productivity initiatives through use of Associative Part Processing Method – (APPM) processing, Associative Programming, and Vericut Optimization/Force.

  • Champion existing and New Product Introduction (NPI) manufacturing process improvement, providing Manufacturing Engineers the tools needed to improve performance, efficiency to achieve business goals

  • Develop and implement Post Processor and VERICUT machine configuration for requisite CNC machines

    Qualification and Education Requirements:

Minimum Education required (specific field or equivalent):

  • Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aeronautical Engineering or related disciplines.

Minimum years of experience in role:

  • At least 6 years’ of operational experience with an least 4 years in a Supervisory/Managerial role in a Precision Engineering environment

Preferred Skills (if any):

  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes on VSM, Kaizen & ACE

  • Good planning skills in production materials, capacity and resources

  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast and changing business environment.

  • Result orientated & performance driven

  • Stay abreast of aerospace manufacturing trends and developments

  • Good leadership

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
