Raytheon Technologies is offering a great opportunity for a WATCH OFFICER providing operational support to a mission critical overhead collection and ground enterprise in Springfield, VA.
The position works collaboratively with CONUS and OCONUS ground stations managing enterprise operations, collecting status, supporting anomalies and translating technical terms into non-technical terms for reports to senior government stakeholders.
The Watch and Operations Support program maintains a proactive interface with multiple Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) mission partners and war fighting organizations.
It provides mission assurance and contingency operations and exercise support, conducts threat and vulnerability assessments, defensive space control analyses, and assessment of mission contributions and loss impacts during anomalies.
This Watch Officer shift position requires 24/7 support, via 12-hour rotational shifts.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILIES:
Responsible for recording incidents and providing support to the Mission Director (MD).
Provides a total customer support service and a single point of contact for all users relating to the ground station outages, incidents, and incidents involving OCONUS personnel.
Maintains situational awareness and utilizing an understanding of relationships, dependencies of the DoD and IC enterprise, mission operations and the organizations that support them.
Receives and responds to customer questions and obtains insight into vehicle and ground station problems for senior leadership.
Provides assistance to the MD in building the morning brief.
Drafts reports and messages for release.
Notifies and communicates with National and IC partners on items of concern.
Supports development of training materials, evaluation criteria and participates in exercise planning and implementation.
Supports application of NTM to solve customer intelligence problems.
Supports Special Technical Operations, Defensive Space Control, courses of action and tactics development in response to observed changes in posture.
Reviews, interprets, and disseminates treaty inspection and organizational notifications to required locations.
Supports multiple panels and technical exchanges across the community.
Manages control manuals and contingency plans.
Minimum 2 years of experience of satellite, space, or special technical operations experience
Ability to support 12-hour shifts, with the ability to support periodic customer- and environment-driven surge activities
Demonstrated experience and proficiency with Windows and Unix/Linux based operating systems, software requirements, and software maintenance
Thorough technical and problem solving skills in a dynamic, high-visibility, operational environment.
Must have an effective record of effectively interacting with senior external personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring coordination between organizations.
Must have excellent oral/written presentation, interpersonal and team player skills.
Must have a TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph.
Minimum of 5 years of satellite and space operations experience
Experience with Microsoft Office & Visual Studio and Adobe Products
Experience using Perl (Active State and/or Open IDE), Java, C++, FORTRAN, Mathcad and Matlab.
Familiarization with AGI STK, BVI, MKS and ArcGIS is preferred
Familiarization with Orbital Mechanics and/or space vehicle command and telemetry concepts and operations is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work in a demanding operational environment.
Requires a deep work ethic and can-do attitude.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Sciences or STEM related discipline.
A minimum of four (4) years of additional, applicable operational or special technical operations work experience can be substituted for college degree.
This position is contingent on contract award and also requires a U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
