Job Summary :

Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) Electrical Products Team (EPT) provides Electrical engineering design, integration and test support to a wide range of hardware in RMD. EPT has a need for a Lab Manager in the Advanced Networking Solutions (ANS) St Petersburg, FL Systems Integration Lab. This position has overall responsibility for managing customer hardware, lab assets in a dynamic environment and will manage a team of engineering technicians. The individual in this role will manage hardware work and ensure hardware meets contractual military and industry quality, program cost and schedule requirements by planning, organizing, and directing product flow. This individual will need to actively ensure a quality and safe work environment and be engaged in affordability, quality and safety improvement projects. U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

This role requires daily interaction with other cross-business teams in RMD to maintain and meet organizational goals and objectives of achieving/exceeding cost, quality, delivery, and safety goals. These teams include operations, project management, technical support, design engineering, material control and laboratory maintenance. Performance criteria for this position include identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities using six sigma and lean methodologies.

In addition to the above, responsibilities include:

  • Project management using MS Project, Excel or equivalent

  • Job / Project tracking

  • Labor planning and optimization

  • Training and development of technicians/engineers

  • Facilitating solutions/troubleshooting for depot product support

  • Test asset management, calibration, and optimization

  • Capital identification

  • Ensuring the enforcement of company policies and procedures

  • Quality and Safety audit support

  • Engineering and Customer interaction

    Qualification You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business (or related field)

  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience in hardware development, hardware test, production / manufacturing / operations or similar environments

  • Previous team leadership experience in manufacturing / planning / scheduling / operations / test or similar environments

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, and other business related tools.

    Qualifications We Value

  • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing and six sigma concepts with a proven track record of project leadership and improvement implementation.

  • Previous experience working in a lab or test environment

  • Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering experience in the aerospace/defense industry

  • Experience utilizing business systems and tools that aid in managing labor, processes, and workflow.

  • Experience with electromechanical operation, testing, troubleshooting and software configuration

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)

  • Solid people management and interpersonal skills

  • Familiarity with PRISM and other RTX business tools

  • Experience making decisions with minimal supervision

  • Internal and external customer focused

  • Metrics driven and success oriented
