Information Systems Security Officer - ISSO

This Information System Security Officer (ISSO) position is within the Simulation Solutions and Services (SSS) business area. SSS develops and builds simulators and training systems for both military and commercial customers. Devices range in complexity from desktop training all the way up to high fidelity weapon system and full-flight training systems including full visual, motion, and simulator interoperability.

Collins Aerospace is looking for highly skilled ISSO to assist with the implementation of cybersecure information systems and perform activities associated with maintaining/obtaining systems Authority to Operate (ATO)’s

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and coordinate information assurance requirements for networked within environments.

  • Creating and maintaining certification and accreditation documentation.

  • Coordinate their duties with selected Security, Information Technology, and Project Managers on a regular basis.

  • Create and maintain all information assurance documentation (e.g. SSPs, Security Profiles, approvals, etc.) for their assigned areas.

  • Participates in interdepartmental projects and provides leadership as necessary.

  • Interfaces with internal and external Security personnel, customers and management,

  • Performs other IA-related duties as assigned by management on an “as required” basis.

  • Travel as needed to other business locations to provide necessary cyber security support.

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

  • Certification for DoD IAM 8570 compliance, Comptia Security + CE

  • Minimum of 5 years of related Cyber / Security / Systems Security experience (11 years without a Bachelor’s degree)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An active secret US security clearance

  • Experience in the oversight and execution of the Assessment & Authorization processes (Certification & Accreditation), as defined in JSIG/RMF/DAAPM

  • Experience in Information Technology, preferably in an Information Security role in a classified environment. Including:

  • Knowledge of information systems security components and best practices including: firewalls, intrusion detection systems. anti-virus software. data encryption. and other industry-standard techniques and practices.

  • Ability to validate system security controls on multiple Operating Systems (OS). UNIX, Linux. and Windows for both stand-alone and network configurations.

  • Experience with Windows server and VMware.

  • Working knowledge of security configuration requirements for individual applications (i.e. Microsoft Office, Web Browsers, Network Devices, etc.).

  • Knowledge of related utilities and hardware. Server hardware and switches, storage management and TCP/IP, network monitoring and tools
