Software Engineer - Simulation Solutions & Services

Job Summary:

The Simulation Solutions & Services (SS&S) department seeks a highly motivated, self-driven, detail-oriented software engineer to work on the development of new and exciting simulation systems and products ranging in complexity from desktop trainers to high fidelity weapon systems for both commercial and military customer. Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement, integrate, test, and debug real time systems software

  • Work with cross functional team to understand customer requirements and deliver solutions within specified budget, schedule, and scope

  • Participate in customer reviews, technical working groups, and demos

  • Generate engineering design documentation and participate in peer reviews

  • Provide accurate time estimates for their software development efforts

  • Actively learn new technologies and techniques and apply them to new domains and problem sets

  • Travel to support onsite installation and integration activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM degree

  • Usage of Configuration Management tools (SVN, Git, ClearCase, etc.)

  • Proficiency in Object-Oriented Design and Programming using C/C+

  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux software development

  • Experience working with Agile, Kanban, or SCRUM development methodologies

  • Experience working in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment

  • Experience with Computer Network Protocols (Ethernet, TCP, UDP, HTTP)

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, especially within a system of systems

  • Experience with real-time, multi-threaded programming

  • Previous experience with rehosting source code

  • Strong teaming and customer focus

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Affinity towards aviation and/or flight simulation industries

  • Active Clearance (within 24 months)
