Responsibilities to Anticipate
Provide IT system administration in a RedHat Enterprise Linux environment, as well as a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows environment. Must possess an understanding or knowledge of Windows Server internals and most importantly, Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods. Work as a team member in a fast paced technological environment. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS). Understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies. Install and configure software applications requested by end users. Work with Cyber security professionals to maintain security compliance requirements. Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
Relocation is available to the selected applicant if they are eligible per company policy. Please note that this position will be an onsite, daily commuting role to our Tewksbury, MA location
This position will be filled as a System Administrator II or Senior System Administrator I based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree or additional 2 years of IT/System Administration/Technical experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college.
Experience with Linux Server Operating Systems (OS)
Experience DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Backup and Recovery enterprise suites
Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours, must be able to travel 10% or less.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. Except in rare cases, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Value:
Ability to obtain required Department of Defense Directive (DODD) 8140/8470 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent Certification ) within 6 months of hire date
Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF
In-depth working experience in Linux Operating System
Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions
Solid experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX virtual computing methods
Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development
Experience with Redhat and Solaris Linux Systems
Experience and or education of Backup Exec, NetApp Snap Protect, data backup technologies, systems principles, and safeguards
Experience using Network Appliance FAS Series Systems
Self-Starter, customer focused, adaptable, attention to detail, time management skills, ability to multitask, ability to work with general supervision and follow established procedures
High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
