RHS executes prototyping and high-mix/low-rate procurement and fabrication activities with a focus on in-house electro-mechanical packaging, support equipment and liquid cooling systems integration, and partner with outside suppliers to satisfy all demands. This position is for a Mechanical Design section manager in support of Program Trainers.The section manager will be responsible to mature, document and manage the processes, roles and responsibilities of this team, jointly with the development of the larger organizational processes and roles.
The section manager will be responsible for the generation of proposals, financial and schedule management, staffing and execution associated with part selection, requirements flow down and implementation, CAD modeling and documentation, support to hardware build, acceptance, delivery and installation of program Trainers. The section manager will also be responsible to manage an engineering lab for schedule, coordination, compliancy and security.
Will require Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance; current clearance preferred. At a minimum, an Interim Secret clearance will be required in order to start work.
A minimum of 8 years of engineering related experience in the areas of design, manufacturing and process improvement
2+ years of team leadership experience
Six Sigma Specialist Qualified (or equivalent)
Demonstrated experience working within and actively impacting an organization with an evolving charter
Self-motivated with effective oral and written communication skills
Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFMA)
Strong understanding of program productivity and metric data
Background in program improvement with a focus on cost and schedule
Compliancy process knowledge
Active Security Clearance or Interim
Experience with Employee development
BOE training and certification
EVMS training and certification
Able to drive systemic improvements and to build a collaborative network quickly
Proven record of providing innovative solutions
Agile program execution knowledge
Master’s degree in Engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Applied Physics or equivalent discipline
