Job Summary:

The Principal Systems Engineer will provide networking Subject Matter Expertise in support of the Navy’s newest surface combatant Radar and Combat System integration at the Navy’s Land Based integration facility. The SPY-6 radar is a high performance, complex shipboard S-band AESA radar system being integrated with the Navy’s newest Aegis Combat System Baseline. The role involves working collaboratively with other SMEs and team members under the direction of the group lead.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

In support of Radar and Combat System integration and testing, the Principal Systems Engineer will:

  • Support the hardware configuration of test equipment and tactical hardware

  • Perform integration and test activities in house or at site locations

  • Plan, organize & lead multiple tasks at multiple sites including off-site and in-house locations

  • Report system project status to program leadership

    Qualification You Must Have:

  • 6+ years of relevant work experience for G8, 8+ years of relevant work experience for G9

  • Strong networking skills consistent with CompTIA Network+ Certification

  • Strong LINUX/UNIX system skills consistent with CompTIA Server+ Certification

  • Strong RedHat Linux skills consistent with RHEL (V6+) System Administrator Certification

  • Experience installing, managing or maintaining network storage utilities

  • Experience Planning and Executing System Deployments and Upgrades

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technologies, Computer/Network Engineering, Computer Science or related technical discipline

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance; only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Willingness to travel to off-site locations to support integration and test activities

    Qualifications We Value:

  • Experience with HP Ethernet and infiniband switches

  • RedHat Linux (V7) System Certified Engineer Certification

  • RedHat Linux Kickstart System Installation Experience

  • CompTIA – Server+ & Network+ Certification

  • IAT Level II Certified

  • Experience with NSA Encryptors

  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) security standards, SCAP scanning, ACAS scanning, STIGs

  • Experience with Cyber mitigation (Application Whitelisting, ACLs, RBAC)

  • Experience with Radius, IdM (Identity Management)

  • Experience with ForcePoint Next Gen firewall config and management

  • Experience with Luks encryption

  • Experience with System monitoring software, preferably OpManager

  • Experience with NetApp configuration, management and troubleshooting

  • Experience with DDS communications

  • Master's Degree in Information Technologies, Computer/Network Engineering, Computer Science or related technical discipline
