The System Design & Architecture Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD). The more than 2,100 employees provide requirements definition and design at the system, subsystem and component level every day in a collaborative environment which is characterized by respect for the individual, problem solving in a team setting, consensus oriented solutions, and results based recognition. Supporting this mission are teams providing domain expertise and creative solutions in surveillance, naval and missile defense based radar system design, sonar and undersea sensor system design, integrated air and missile defense systems engineering, command and control/battle management system design, combat system and platform architecture design and integration, software intensive system engineering, cyber solutions and algorithm development for signal processing, tracking and discrimination systems. We are seeking Systems Engineering professionals in the Integrated Fire Control Systems (IFCS) department. The department leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support the Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) Land Warfare and Air Defense (LWAD) and Naval Power (NP) mission areas from our Tewksbury MA, Andover MA, and St. Petersburg FL locations.
The IFCS department supports RMD by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world’s toughest challenges. Key technical domains include Radar Systems and Sensor Netting, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, Battlespace Integration and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers.
The Communications Systems Engineer works in a dynamic organization developing customized communications architecture solutions for Patriot Weapons System partners around the globe. It is the mission of the team to understand the needs of the customer and to put together and implement a comprehensive plan to meet that need. That might mean modifying existing hardware or developing new hardware for a specific mission. The engineers work on concept development, preliminary and detailed designs all while implementing those designs in the Communication lab to prove they function as designed. The team works extensively with the other Engineering Organizations to deliver a superior product to the Warfighter. This position is based in Massachusetts.
Minimum of 8 years of experience working with IP networking equipment such as routers and switches
Experience with CISCO routers/IOS
Experience with UHF and VHF military radios
Experience with Link-16 networking and interfaces
Experience with military networked voice systems
Experience with Systems Engineering processes
Proven ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex User requirements
Experience with scripting in Python
Experience with security features and/or vulnerability analysis of various operating systems as defined by Intelligence agencies, NIST, DISA (STIGs) and USCYBERCOM
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline
