The System Design & Architecture Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD). The Early Warning and Defense Operations Systems (EWDOS) Department supports RMD by providing world class Sensor and Weapon Systems Engineering.

Domain Expertise includes Situational Awareness, Network Design, Battle Management, Battlespace Integration and Interoperability Command and Control, Communications, for Domestic and International customers.

Job Description:

The National Capital Region (NCR) National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Defense System (NASAMS), Member of the Land Warfare & Air Defense (LW&AD), requires a multidiscipline engineer. The Systems Engineer reports to the CE, supporting Sustainment and execution of various NASAMS engineering efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with USG customer and sub-contractor to help guide program technical priorities

  • Communicating technical status to internal and external stakeholders

  • Directly contribute to system analysis, concept development, requirements development, hardware design, software design, system performance to include integration and test, and integrated sustainment of NCR NASAMS

  • Developing and maintaining Matlab analysis scripts

  • Supporting interoperability tests with other USG systems

  • Support the program vision, strategy, and goals to align the Program with the Customer and facilitate conflict resolution

  • Support technical integrity and engineering execution across all IPTs, CPTs, and disciplines within the Program

  • Domestic travel required

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of engineering or a related technical discipline, including prior experience in a technical role

  • Demonstrated experience across all phases of program lifecycle.

  • Strong Matlab skills with experience writing scripts and analyzing data

  • Strong independent multidisciplinary skillset

  • Current Secret Security Clearance required or ability to obtain a clearance within 1 year from date of hire.

  • Current Security + certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of NASAMS Program system design, development, integration/verification, production, and/or sustainment

  • Excellent written and verbal skills, proven multitasking skills

  • Demonstrated team player, with excellent collaboration and mentoring skills

  • Ability to work closely with a cross functional team, with representatives from Engineering, Operations, Integrated Supply Chain, Quality, Program Management teams

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related discipline.
