Systems Administrators collaborate with a diverse team to support fast-paced, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you are able to develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.
This position is located in Tewksbury, MA,
with potential for domestic travel.
This position can be either a G08 (Sr. IT System Administrator I) or G09 (Sr. IT System Administrator II) based on candidates’ education, experience and qualifications.
Please note that this position needs an active U.S. DOD Secret Security Clearance as of day one of employment. Except in rare cases, only US Citizens are eligible for US Security Clearances.
Please note – relocation support will be available to the selected applicant at a capped amount to be discussed at the appropriate time, if the person is eligible per company policy. Capped amount will be discussed at the appropriate stage of our process, at the discretion of the hiring manager.
Responsibilities:
Collaborating with cross business partners to define computing requirements and create end to end solutions consisting of hardware and operating system technologies
Integrating and partnering with programs to solve complex infrastructure problems
Assure system reliability and performance through monitoring and infrastructure management
Respond to online service requests from users
Ensure server and application compliance with security and performance requirements (NISPOM, RMF)
Develop and maintain technical and operational documentation to continually improve our computing environments
Engage in knowledge sharing to further develop the overall capability and performance of your technical team
US Citizenship is required.
Required Experience:
6+ years of experience with Windows Operating Systems
Windows operating systems, including Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 2K12 Server, Windows 2K16 server
Active Directory, Powershell, and group policy management Administration.
Virtual computing technologies such as VMware vSphere to include designing, managing, and building virtual desktops and servers
CISSP or Security+ certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of starting
Must posses an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment, Except in rare cases only US Citizens are eligible to obtain US Security Clearances.
Desired Experience:
Windows 2K19 server Unix RedHat 5, 6, and 7 and CentOS 5, 6, 7
Current IT Systems Administration related certifications such as MSCE, MCSA or MCTS
Virtual Desktop Infrastructures such as VMWare, HyperV, Horizon 7 VDI, Profile Unity Nutanix, VMWARE VCSA
Troubleshooting Linux Operating Systems and Applications
Data storage and data backup technologies
Operating system provisioning similar to Cobbler, Kickstart, Red Hat Satellite
MS MDT
System update management with experience using WSUS & Chef or similar to products
Computer system monitoring with experience using SolarWinds & Splunk or similar to products
Unified OS account management technologies similar to Centrify
Infrastructure Automation Tools -
Chef
Fundamental TCP/IP concepts
Scripting / programming experience
Fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Desire to learn new skills and troubleshoot issues
Strong leadership skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to Collaborate Effectively
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Mathematics or a Technical Discipline
8 years of applicable professional experience in a related field in lieu of a University Degree
