This role will serve as the Pratt & Whitney’s Oklahoma City Special Technologies Coating (STC) Operations Manager.

Pratt & Whitney’s current OKC Operations support the aftermarket maintenance and overhaul of modules/engines for the F117, F119, and F135 programs including logistical operations and STC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage salary engineers and hourly technicians for plasma spray coating, laser drill and waterjet strip processes in a multi-shift operation and provide management of workload and customer communication to ensure that commitments of customers are being met.

  • Provide Temporary Vendor Assist for the production of OEM hardware in support of the Hot Section Module Center and guide engineering personnel to collaborate with both OEM and Aftermarket engineering resources for problem solving and establishing Best in Class coating operation processes.

  • Facilitate new repair development tasks by supporting proposal processes through collaboration with all required engineering, program and financial entities and provide project management and guidance to execute repair operations expansion.

  • These duties can include identification of equipment and facility requirements, processing eCAR funding documentation, identifying repair capabilities, logistics, staffing of engineering and technician resources and communication with the Executive Management team on project status

  • Responsible for accurate and accountable timekeeping processes for hourly personnel payroll processing as well as supporting training and ACE initiatives including development of staff in ACE training and certification.

  • Foster a work environment to ensure a cooperative, diverse, and multi-talented work force to ensure flawless execution and attention to detail in all aspects of operations. Lead our culture of excellence, collaboration, and compliance.

  • Seek opportunities to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency through the development and usage of new or improved project mgmt. tools, digital solutions, process documentation, or technology.

  • Oversee employee timekeeping, awards, discipline and leadership development through coaching and regular performance reviews

  • Demonstrates commitment to the EH&S program by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.

  • You may be expected to travel up to 10% of the time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Operations/Supply Chain Management required.

  • M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent in related engineering field is a plus.

  • A minimum of 8 years in Operations, Supply Chain experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience is required

  • At least 4 years of experience in management/supervisory/leadership is required.

  • US Citizenship is required due to government contracts.

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain required clearances as a condition of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of entities in a diverse and fast paced environment, both internal and external to the organization.

  • Experience leading both hourly and salary employees is strongly desired

  • Experience in high temperature plasma spray coating operations, coating development or related engineering is a plus.

  • Self-starter with demonstrated adaptability competency and ability to operate efficiently in a multi-tasking environment.

  • Proficient in Continuous Improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills with ability to work collaboratively with others who may have differing agendas are essential.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
