The Senior Manager, SIOP and Materials Management shall be responsible for the Inventory Management and the SIOP processes for our Wheel and Brake Division. In addition, this position shall be responsible for ensuring standardized processes and tools for Master Scheduling, Capacity Planning, SIOP, and Inventory Management for the division. This position leads our Supply Meeting, Pre-Executive Meeting, and Executive Meeting for the division, ensuring an agenda that meets the needs of the business, on time execution of actions, and best practice process meeting document control. Additionally, this position facilitates best practice sharing and tireless focus on continuous improvement. This position shall be responsible for ensuring strategic, operational, and procedural standard work is implemented and maintained for SIOP and Inventory Management.

The Senior Manager, SIOP and Materials Management shall also be responsible for implementation of key planning and inventory metrics, that includes an automation and dashboard strategy in partnership with Enterprise resources that govern and control responsible processes. In addition, the position will ensure that all projects are implemented, by site, per agreed upon project plan. This position will be responsible for special projects for Wheel and Brake Materials Management that advance the maturity of processes and systems. This position shall create and own process improvement plans in connection with an aligned vision and process maturity roadmap.

The Senior. Manager, SIOP and Materials Management shall perform DIVEs or other problem-solving events with root cause and corrective action to ensure sustainable and long-term solutions to opportunities as it pertains to the SIOP and Inventory Management processes. The Senior Manager, SIOP and Materials Management shall also be responsible for training of tools at each site as well as provide any on-going coaching that may be required for both root cause analysis and generation of mitigation plans for metrics that are not meeting target.

Additional responsibilities include driving change, standardization, continuous improvement, and best practice in process, systems, and tools to meet expected company financial and process metrics, goals, and objectives.

This role is a high-profile position and requires skilled management of projects and the ability to develop collaborative relationships between all all Wheel and Brake sites, cross functional stakeholders, and corporate leadership to ensure intersecting functional areas understand and support the required interface to the Materials Management function.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, communicate, train, and deploy a standard SIOP Supply Planning process for the Wheel and Brake division with supporting tools and standard work based on market accepted Oliver Wight best practices to align and reconcile demand and supply with business goals and objectives

  • Manage the business inventory management and inventory forecasting processes

  • Ensure a standard and robust process and tools are in place and adhered to

  • Ensure functional accountability to the inventory forecast

  • Ensure continuous improvement and project adherence in Inventory Clinic and SIOP process

  • Assist sites in the development of annual slow moving / obsolete inventory reserves for distribution to Finance with on-going monthly updates of actual to plan

  • Develop and deploy Annual Inventory Plan to include business site goals and support site planning process, as required

  • Provide subject matter expertise to Master Scheduling and Capacity Planning Processes

  • Ensure standard company Master Scheduling policies, processes and procedures are adhered to, by site, with the goal of each site recognizing the importance of master scheduling and is reflected in the organization and communicated with a focus on delivery and inventory management

  • Ensure company capacity planning policies, procedures, tools, reporting requirements and on-going analysis are adhered to, by site, and a standard capacity calculation is used at all sites

  • Ensure standard and collaborative Supply Planning Meetings are setup and adhered to by the sites

  • Ensure plant supply balancing process is occurring to balance supply and demand throughout the supply planning time horizon

  • Manage special projects for Wheel and Brake Materials Management utilizing best practice project management methods

  • Ensure standard policies, processes and procedures are developed, documented, and deployed, by site

  • Track and report key site and rolled up performance indicators and proactively identify appropriate actions to close gaps and to drive continuous improvement

  • Ensure all other site level procedures and standard job instructions are developed and implemented to support company standard procedures and or local procedures

  • Support achievement of ACE Gold activities, as required

  • Execute all tasks associated with the site macro plan objectives and site business plan, as required

  • Ensure training plans and materials are developed and implemented with on-going training and coaching provided as required.

  • Initiate, lead, and / or participate in site level activities to include 5S, Kaizen, DIVE events, Six Sigma, and other related continuous improvement events as well as prioritize site level events

  • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of the EHS policy and management system, the importance of conforming to EHS policies and procedures and consequences of failing to comply with EHS policies and procedures.

  • Continuously drive a Lean culture within the Materials Organization

  • Provide input to final approved department budgets

  • Other duties as required

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Software (i.e. Excel, Visio etc.) as well as Business Intelligence Software including Business Objects and Tableau Working knowledge and ERP experience is a must (SAP is preferred) to include MRO/Materials and Supply Chain

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or other related field. MBA is preferred

  • APICS Certification preferred (CPIM, CSCP)

  • Proficient problem-solving ability and attention to detail

  • Requires the ability to read English and write descriptive statements

  • Must be able to articulate and understand verbal and written instructions

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication, team building skills, and ability to lead cross functionally

  • Ability to both communicate and present at the highest levels of the organization

  • Ability to travel 10-25% of the time
