Job Description:

The Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) Communications Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead is responsible for leading a multi-disciplined, geographically dispersed team in the design, development and delivery of the NGI Data Link Subsystem. The Communications IPT Lead will interface with the Prime Contractor and MDA leadership, Customer Subject Matter Experts, Suppliers as well as lead the RMD cross functional Communications IPT including Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain.

Join this team to perform challenging assignments which will directly contribute to protecting our nation and our war fighters.

Duties include:

  • Provide Integrated Product Team Leadership for the Communications IPT

  • Responsible for all Data Link and Communications Non-Recurring and Recurring tasks to ensure design and delivery of the Communications subsystem

  • Responsible for managing the Data Link supplier, in both technical and cost/schedule parameters

  • Extensive interaction with Program Managers, Directorate Leads, Chief Engineers, and Technical SMEs

  • Monthly reporting of product team business performance metrics

  • Interface with the NGI Prime Contractor and the MDA customer community on a regular basis to share team status, issues, and address technical and programmatic concerns

  • This position requires up to 25% domestic travel

    This position requires a current Secret U.S. Security Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Qualifications you must have:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

  • Active/Current US Secret Security Clearance

  • 12+ years prior relevant work experience in one or more, or a combination of the following areas:

  • Communications Systems Design

  • Data Link Hardware Development

  • Communications Algorithm Development

  • Digital Signal Processing

  • 5+ years in Managing a Hardware Engineering Team and Budget

  • Experience managing supplier development of complex electrical subsystems

  • Experience working with and providing status to customers

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)

Qualifications we value:

  • Advanced Degree in STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with a focus in Digital Communications, Communications Systems Design, Data Link Hardware Development, Waveform Algorithm Development, and / or, Digital Signal Processing

  • 10+ years in Managing a HW Engineering Team / Budget

  • Experience managing large ($50M+) subcontractor developments

  • Experience with DoD or similar major programs throughout the product lifecycle

  • Demonstrated excellence in past work performance

  • Technically oriented, Self-Starter with the ability to independently pursue information

  • Level 2 Earned Value Certification

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Program Management Level 5 Certification (or higher)
