The Digital Technology (DT) organization is currently seeking an entrepreneurial, analytic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment, working with large transactional volumes and big data, and above all else, is passionate about data, analysis and continuous learning. Ideal candidates will work across functional and business areas to research, develop, architect and support bleeding-edge solutions focused on data integration, information management and scaled internal application of Artificial Intelligence (i.e. MLOps). Products deployed in this role span manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and business development applications. This is a remote position, however preference would be for someone to live near one of our RMD sites, such as: Andover, MA or Tucson, AZ.
This position is a multi-level position. Depending on experience, could be a Data Scientist II or Sr Data Scientist I (Data Engineering focused role).
Support ETL, System Administration, Continuous Integration / Continuous Development and successful deployment and sustainment of rapidly evolving production analytics applications
Identify and create new derivatives and/or aggregations of data to be used to support analytic product innovation for team product development and/or data consumption across multiple functions, products, and markets
Optimally process complex, large data of various types (images, text documents, transactional, test data) used for modeling, data mining, and research
Programmatically validate data quality and model performance through implementing data profiling methods, automated alerts, and drift monitoring
Serve as an effective communicator of consulting advice and technical expertise to colleagues, business partners and customers regarding data engineering, foundational statistical and machine learning questions about the scope and potential uses of data to achieve business value
Continuously assess and communicate self-driven strategies for applying and developing diverse technical skills to support design and sustainment of data pipelines and data warehousing for data ingested from legacy enterprise systems, streaming sources, web scraped sources, purchased data feeds, APIs, etc.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Mathematics or a Technical Discipline strongly preferred
Linux system administration
Intermediate or better experience with Python programming language used for software engineering and/or data science applications
Experience as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, Software Developer
Intermediate to advanced SQL and Bash applied skills and experience demonstrating best practices in ETL around managing, integrating and loading data for various performance scenarios
Past experience developing, enhancing, and providing quality assurance for operationalized algorithms and data pipelines
Eligibility to obtain a US Govt. Dept. of Defense Secret Clearance as necessary for future projects that require it. Except in rare cases, only US Citizens are eligible to obtain US Clearances.
Strategic thinking and design skills and experience
It is important that candidates demonstrate the ability to articulate application of skills to business outcomes rather than purely academic endeavors.
Apply quantitative techniques (normalization, applied statistics) to cleanse and explore large, complex data sets in preparation for further analysis
Experience with commercial software development processes: good software hygiene regarding code documentation, unit testing, bug tracking and version control
Track record of GPU programming, network optimization and deployment for data science applications
Experience with high performance compute management tools(i.e. Slurm, HTCondor, Prometheus, TORQUE)
Hands-on algorithmic development experience (whether research or product side), specifically with CNN architectures such as ResNet, Inception, XCeption, NASNet, VGG, UNet, Stacked Hourglass, MobileNet, pix2pix, and CycleGAN
