The Raytheon Air Defense Systems (ADS) Directorate is seeking a Program Director at Raytheon Missiles and Defense Systems reporting directly to the ADS Sr. Director in Tucson, Arizona. This role will be required to lead a joint Raytheon, Rafael, and direct outside hires team while serving as the CEO of the Raytheon Rafael Area Protection Systems (R2S) joint venture company. R2S’ mission is to produce, deliver, and maintain the Iron Dome/SkyHunter system for customers, both international and domestic. This position requires strong proficiency in leading company and program teams which will include driving downward communication of top-level company and project goals/objectives/decisions and upward communication of company performance to the R2S Board of Directors. This role will partner with senior leadership at both Raytheon and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Ltd for the development of company growth, execution objectives and plans.
This position owns the day-to-day execution of the R2S Company, to include all key functional efforts associated with standing up a company (HR, IT, etc.). R2S executes business across all phases of the product life cycle to include direct interface to international customers and governments, development of the upgraded products, and logistics support and sustainment for delivered products.
The Program Director (PD) is responsible for the delivery of Iron Dome/SkyHunter products and services to the US government, international governments, and the two partner companies. The program’s complexity is attributed to having facilities, personnel, and customers located in multiple domestic and international locations, while maintaining the partnership the two owners. This position has the responsibility of managing all company and program personnel, and support of the ADS directorate and Raytheon and Rafael business objectives. R2S is not a prime contracting entity but serves as a major subcontractor to either RMD or Rafael.
The Program Director is required to manage multi-disciplinary teams to develop solutions to complex problems for the international partners & customers. Further responsibilities include driving tactical execution while meeting strategic objectives. This will require a demonstrated skill in program execution by leading with a strong leadership presence.
This role will require continuation of existing relationships with domestic and international partners while developing new ones to support growth objectives. This leader will have to communicate with not only its customer base, but be able to influence other potential customers.
In addition, this individual will be expected to execute proposal activities for follow-on work, and support/establish investment strategies. This will support the development of the manufacturing plans/roadmaps, advancement of next generation technology, and promoting future growth for Iron Dome/SkyHunter and the Land Warfare and Air Defense Mission Area.
This position can be based in Tucson, AZ or Boston, MA. Must be able to travel frequently both domestically and internationally about 40% of the time.
Qualifications you must have:
Minimum of 14 years’ experience; preferably with significant program management and/or related experience
Bachelor’s degree; Preferably in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or Business related discipline. Advanced degrees preferred
Prior experience with program execution experience, and strong business acumen with the ability to manage, track and report metrics and progress through various management reviews.
Experience working DoD and international programs
Program Management Certification or ability to obtain within one year of starting.
An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
