Raytheon Technologies Global Customs Analyst II in Tucson, Arizona
Raytheon's GCO/ Global Customs Organization is looking for a professional with experience in Customs Brokerage, Freight forwarding and importer/exporter to fill the role of GCO Export Declaration Advisor.
This position will plan, organize, and execute day-to-day export transactions to achieve targeted results in a fast paced and challenging environment. This position requires knowledge of Commerce, DDTC, HTS, customs valuation, Other Government Agency requirements, Free Trade Agreements and CBP processes.
This person must be a team player who is willing to learn and adapt to the company’s business needs. This role serves as an export declaration primary point of contact for one or more businesses.
The Export Declarations Advisor reports to the Export Declaration Services Supervisor.
Responsibilities: Your duties include, but are not limited to:
Translates regulatory declaration requirements into comprehensive easy-to-understand consultative guidance in order to ensure compliance and facilitate shipment execution.
Works with internal Programs and functions, Global Trade Compliance, Shipping, Receiving, International Logistics and external Freight Forwarders.
Review valuation, country of origin and product related information obtained from Supply Chain Procurement, Operations and Contracts for accuracy
Generates the required documentation necessary for an export customs entry including preparing a commercial invoice and shipper’s letter of instruction using SAP-based and other systems.
Ensures compliant submission of export customs filings to ACE and external customs brokers as well as management of customer expectations through collaboration, complete record keeping packages, and management of licensing requirements and interfaces with U.S. Customs.
Assesses the accuracy of documentation provided by Freight Forwarders
Monitors, escalates, and resolves Agent-filer service failures.
Assigns Harmonized Tariff Schedule number across similar product and product families as needed.
Operates in accordance with standard operating procedures. Recommends updates to processes and tools to accommodate compliant and facilitative goods flow.
Represents the organization as primary contact for export customs declaration filing with internal customers and third party service providers.
Manage and maintain export files and records in accordance with the U.S. Government import and export regulations and company policies.
Identifies and reports to Leadership and/or other trade compliance management any potential violations of trade compliance laws and compliance violations and any incidents involving significant weaknesses in processes or procedures.
Supports internal, external, and government-directed compliance audits and assessments as requested.
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and application of trade regulations such as: Harmonized tariff schedule (HTS),
export valuation regulations, Focused Assessment Audits, United States Munitions list (USML), Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) DSP5, DSP73 and free trade agreements
Strong organizational skills with the ability to respond efficiently and effectively to time-critical issues with competing / conflicting priorities.
Detailed and task oriented self-starter who can develop effective networks with internal and external customers.
Ability to work in a team environment and build effective relationships and rapport with internal organizations and external service providers.
Knowledge of SAP,
and MS Office applications
Excellent customer relationship/interpersonal skills
Strong sense of urgency and the ability to adapt to change
Licensed Customs Broker
Strong skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications, SAP based systems, ITCS , RGEMS
Required Education and experience :
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years’ experience
in Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, Importer & export compliance, Department of State & Commerce Licensing, policy, or government relations field
