Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) is seeking a proven, high performing, HR professional to fill an HR Generalist role in supporting a functional organization. In this dynamic and fast-paced role you will partner and collaborate with the HR Lead and business leaders to understand the business strategies and objectives while applying HR solutions in a proactive manner, consistent with the Human Resources vision and mission. The ability to execute project deliverables, exercise sound judgment and work collaboratively on multiple projects is critical in this role. The successful candidate should demonstrate an understanding of how HR can support business growth and performance. Preferred locations are Tucson, Arizona and Tewksbury, Massachusetts.

The Principal Human Resources Generalist will have responsibility for the execution of HR processes and activities to support designated customer groups within Engineering. The Principal Human Resources Generalist will collaborate with leaders as an advisor and architect on topics including organizational effectiveness, change and talent management, organizational learning and development, performance management, compensation, benefits and employee relations. Additionally, through partnership with other HR Leaders, Business Partners and Generalists across RMD, this position will provide leadership and support in the execution of strategic HR initiatives such as workforce planning, succession planning, employee engagement, and talent development.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Models Employee Advocacy behavior and serves as a trusted advisor to front, mid-level leaders, senior leaders and employees

  • Serves as a partner focusing on brokering solutions to business problems

  • Serves as a resource for driving a culture of Diversity and Inclusion

  • Executes critical HR processes, including compensation, performance management and talent acquisition

  • Collaborates amongst other HR organizations such as Organizational Effectiveness (OE), Program Management Excellence (PMX) and Global Talent Development (GTD) to achieve business and talent objectives

  • Models consistent application of Raytheon HR policies to mitigate risk and ensure equitable solutions

  • Drives Talent Management strategies to include workforce planning, succession planning, knowledge transfer and high-potential development

  • Communicate and implement proactive strategies pertaining to employee relations, training, leadership development, employee communications, and diversity & inclusion in support of strategic objectives

  • Investigates and resolves Employee Relations issues and complaints and Ethics-related case investigations. Focuses on maintaining a positive employee relations environment and culture

    Required Skills:

  • 5 years progressive Human Resource experience, preferably in the areas of Employee Relations, Compensation, Benefits, Talent Management, Staffing, and /or Organizational Effectiveness

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or a related field.

  • Experience leading HR related programs such as Compensation, Performance Management, and /or benefits

  • Experience coaching managers regarding employee performance, talent development and / or employee relations

  • Experience and strong proficiency serving as a consultant to leaders for their organization on highly significant matters relating to organizational strategies and efficiencies.

  • Experience with Microsoft suite of products

  • Strong organizational/follow-up skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

  • Experience with HR business applications and systems, such as Peoplesoft, Cognos, SPEED, Workday and applicant tracking, or similar database and query tools.

    Desired Education:

    Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field and relevant HR Certifications, PHR or SPHR preferred.
