Job Summary:

The RMD Mission Assurance (MA) organization enables engineering quality solutions, capabilities and services to the business. Most important is collaboration with our functional partners and customers (internal and external) to execute and solve problems quickly and efficiently. MA embeds itself throughout the engineering lifecycle to prevent defects from reaching the warfighter and to ensure flawless program execution to meet quality, cost, schedule and technical objectives.

We have an immediate need for a Mission Systems Assurance Engineer to join the Mission Assurance Technical Staff located in Tucson, AZ. The program facing, MA Technical Staff Mission Systems Assurance Engineer is responsible for day-to-day Mission Systems Assurance activities on a major Sea Based Weapons System/Missile Defense Agency Program. This role will focus on a new program and includes tailoring efforts around customer requirements as well as defining flow down and verification activities for specific Mission Critical Suppliers. As the program matures from development through eventual production, the MSA role will morph into responsibilities that include solidification of requirements, verification of flow down and compliance, deep dives into technical issues, evaluation of transition to production as well as qualification and eventual production. The MSA Candidate will work day to day with Engineering, PMO, Quality and Supply Chain to ensure compliance to all contract requirements while focusing on Technical Risk Management, conduct appropriate program reviews and accept or reject risk associated with non-conformances.

This position is contract contingent on winning the NGI program.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Assessing Technical Risk of non-conformances requiring analytical skills and technical critical thinking

  • Tailoring and adjudication of MAP Rev C

  • Support and provide oversight for all Class 1 and Class 2 Failure Investigations

  • Review change requests and supplier change requests for technical impact

  • Weekly customer interaction

  • Specific government contract data delivered as required under the role

  • Peer reviews/failure review boards/configuration control boards/process review boards

    Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics

  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, along with previous Program Leadership experience.

  • Expert level understanding of the Missile Defense Agency Assurance Provisions (MAP)

  • Knowledgeable of the Missile Defense Agency Parts, Materials & Processes (PMAP)

  • Special Process experience

  • Full understanding of Root Cause/Corrective Action

  • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
