Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) Systems Test Directorate is seeking strategic technical leaders passionate about effective application of Systems Engineering to deliver world-class missile systems to our defense customers.
The Systems Integration and Test Directorate at RMD is responsible for the development and deployment of product test architectures, test environments and capabilities, integration and test execution for our products from design through manufacturing. The vision of Systems Test is to be a world-class leader in driving test affordability while ensuring an operationally relevant product is delivered to our service members.
The Systems Integration and Test – Weapons and Platforms Center (W&PC) is currently looking for a Test Architect.
As a senior engineer, the Test Architect (TA) will be accountable for architecting a technically sound approach for the Test and Evaluation (T&E) strategy for the entire lifecycle of the product along with influencing the prime item architecture to support that strategy.

Responsibilities to anticipate:
Identify and understand technology risks and RMD system design concepts supportive of incremental technical maturity/risk mitigation assessments.
Will apply their career experiences to architect T&E events and environments which efficiently and effectively utilize models, simulations, test beds, prototypes, and full-scale Engineering Development Models (EDMs) to satisfy development and environmental/qualification objectives and to satisfy an appropriate affordable solution for production.
Be capable of identifying and specifying additional requirements, as necessary, for capital, contract, and government assets (e.g., Government Labs and Test Ranges)
Have a strong network established within the DoD T&E community
Strong understanding of the DoD processes with focus on the T&E aspects. The TA understands the role of the DoD Key Leadership Position, the Chief Developmental Tester (CDT) and the expected interactions with the CDT.
Seek opportunities to drive improvements in product affordability through increased built-in-test capabilities.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelors of Science (B.S.) in math, engineering, science or other STEM degrees. Advance degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience with systems engineering
Minimum of 10 years of experience with systems verification, validation, integration and test or related experience
Test Strategy & Architecture experience across the entire product lifecycle:
Technical expertise in test methodology for RF systems.
Experience with Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA)
Experience with development, environmental qualification, production manufacturing, and/or operations testing
Experience with DoD processes, with focus on the T&E aspects
Experience managing a team.
Experience with EVMS
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
Qualifications We Value:
Must be a self-starter and able to manage workload to meet assigned deadlines
Excellent technical writing and formal presentation experience
Demonstrated ability to lead single- or multi-discipline teams of engineers
Project management experience
Strong understanding of the DoD 5000.02 processes
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SSBI
