Multi Domain Attack Systems (MDAS) is seeking a highly motivated Program Manager to lead the Excalibur Production Program. This program focuses on the concurrent production and delivery for the Excalibur lb Production Domestic and FMS Army/Marine contracts. Excalibur lb configuration is a GPS Guided, extended-range 155mm artillery projectile in its 3rd production iteration, while delivering well over 13,000 projectiles to Domestic and International customers..
The lb production program is currently in a full rate Production Contract with one variant with plans for a possible 3 additional variants in the future procurement years.
This PM has full accountability and authority for leading and managing the lb Excalibur production program. This includes setting program strategy, vision and tactical direction for program execution, meeting contractual schedule and budget commitments and company expectations. The person selected for this role will be responsible for all aspects of the Excalibur lb production contract execution.
This position is located in Tucson, AZ and will be remote during COVID 19. Hybrid or fully remote options may be negotiated depending on candidate qualifications. This position requires travel about 10% of the time.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Monitor adherence to budgets, meet company financials and objectives supporting MDAS AOP and Program Production contract EAC.
Establishes and maintains key program metrics, defines program milestones/critical path/tactical direction and monitor adherence to program budgets and schedules ensuring program meets customer’s needs, schedule and financials as defined within the contract.
Establishes an executable baseline schedule; negotiating and executing change requirements.
Ensures implementation of a robust Risk & Opportunity Management plan, including proactive schedule risk management, to ensure predictable program performance.
Uses approved program tracking control systems and reports that accurately measure progress, identifies potential problems in sufficient time for corrective action.
Builds, oversees and integrates the performance of the cross-functional teams and sub-contractors.
Focuses, evaluates, motivates and rewards the program team, enabling them to achieve desired results.
Acts as primary customer contact on status and performance, anticipates, and fulfills customer needs.
Supports requested Program and Corporate Program Management Excellence reviews and actions to closure.
Supports the development of the program Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and long term financial outlook and commits the program to specific financial goals.
Responsible for Excalibur lb Production Contract EAC
Qualifications You Must Have:
Minimum of 12 years relevant PM experience; preferably defense industry experience
Bachelor’s degree; Preferably in STEM (Science, engineering, Math, technology) or Business related discipline.
Experience in competitive analysis, customer analysis, win strategy development, conduct of color teams, and price-to-win analysis.
Prior experience with US government policies; preferably with regulations and processes tied to foreign military sales and export authorizations.
Program Manager level 4 PMX certification or must be able to obtain within one year
Experience with developing and maintaining customer relationships.
Experience with navigating a wide array of complex cultural norms, business practices, and customer decision-making processes and industry workshare/offset policies.
Prior experience leading teams; preferably in a matrix organizations to drive results
An active Secret US security clearance
Qualifications We Value:
Ability to grasp technical aspects of Excalibur 1b configuration and other M-DAS products and interact with Customer Functional Leadership Team
5-7 years of Production Program Leadership experience - Program Manager level 3 /4 certification
International capture or program management experience
Engage culturally diverse and senior level customers as well as industry partners
In-depth knowledge of cannon artillery and/or mortars weapons platforms/system, projectiles, munitions, and/or customer’s employment tactics, techniques, and procedures
Knowledge of the U.S. Army’s and U.S. Marine Corps’ long range precision fires modernization plans
Experience managing domestic and/or international production programs
Demonstrated ability to advise and influence the cross-functional production team, functional leaders, domestic and global supply chain, and internal program leaders to secure the resources necessary execute a profitable production program
Experience in leading production functional team’s through resolution of production issues, resulting in Communication to Leadership and the Customer, ensuring RCCA’s identifying financial impact to EAC and AOP.
Master’s degrees in business, engineering/technology, or other related to Program Management and Production Leadership
