Raytheon Missiles & Defense has a position for Manager, Program Contracts. Be the first to apply to this unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the exciting new Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI) development program. The GPI program is a next generation advanced hypersonic missile defense system that will deliver increased regional defense capabilities around the world.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the GPI program team and responsible for contractual management of development efforts. The successful candidate’s duties will include a lead role in serving on the program leadership team, customer engagement and collaboration, complex change management, Request for Proposal (RFP) assessment, contract negotiation, and contract administration. The successful applicant will be the primary customer interface for business and contracting matters. The selected candidate will advise management of contractual rights and obligations and means to mitigate contractual/program risks.

Responsibilities include working closely with Program Managers and Business/Estimating functions to construct, submit and negotiate pricing proposals; formal correspondence; providing support to senior management regarding contractual and business issues; ensuring that negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies while creating quality business results; and advising management of contractual rights and obligations and possible mitigation of contractual/program risks. This position is based in Tucson, AZ, however can be performed remotely with moderate travel required. This role will be contingent upon successful award of the GPI program. This role assumes the candidate will report through Strategic Missile Defense (SMD) Mission Area, which will be determined prior to award.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance within one year

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • A proven track record of success in domestic contracting including terms and conditions, FAR/DFARS, employing policies and procedures, and Risk Mitigation

  • Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts and other business arrangements; ability to contribute to negotiation strategy and possess strong negotiation skills

  • Effective communicator both orally and in writing; strong analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills, and track record of responsiveness

  • Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork and trust

  • Capable of managing several assignments concurrently

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills are essential

  • Ability to provide contractual solutions to both the Customer and Program Team

  • Computer proficiency, experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and shared data bases

    Required Skills:

  • 10 years of experience in domestic contract administration, including proposal preparation and contract negotiation

  • BA/BS in Business, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree may be considered in lieu of 2 yrs of experience)

  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)

  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

    Desired Skills:

  • Existing DoD Secret Clearance

  • JD and MBA a plus

    Security Clearance:

    This position requires the eligibility to obtain security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations, and drug involvement.
