Whole Life Engineering (WLE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, and Maintainable and delivered on time. WLE consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our WLE disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines: Reliability System Safety and Supportability.
The Mission Support & Sustainment (MS&S) Department seeks an experienced Sustainment Engineer based out of Tucson, AZ.
In this role you’ll support the following:
Execution of tasks in the areas of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Sustainment Analysis, and Sustainment Planning
Identification and elevation of technical and schedule risks
Logistics and engineering analysis used to develop provisioning data (such as readiness-based spares models) in a medium as required by the customer
Development and update of technical manuals and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs)
Development of processes, procedures, training devices and equipment used to train civilian and military personnel to operate and support the product
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Providing general engineering support for development of a sustainment model for a new program
Supporting the development of engineering white papers and presentations to help inform customers and influence support decisions
Supporting the development of supportability analyses which provide recommendations for long term product support, including spares recommendations, maintenance procedure updates, and parts and materials substitutions as needed
Ensuring the technical integrity, suitable quality and adherence to standards for logistics artifacts supporting Logistics, Provisioning, Field Support, Intermediate Level Maintenance, and Depot Level Maintenance through engagement in peer reviews, program reviews, design reviews, failure review boards, investigation teams, and working groups
Assisting with Whole Life Engineering sustainment inputs to product design and production
Supporting Whole Life Engineering technical strategies for long-term product sustainment
Acting as a liaison with all engineering disciplines, such as Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Test, Materials and Processes, and Structural design functions
Developing operator-level and maintainer-level documentation for complex effector and sensor systems
Collaborating with functional management, program management and execution team to ensure technical success while balancing goals, approaches, and risks
Domestic & International travel may be required (approximately 10% domestic and 5% international)
Qualifications You Must Have:
Education: BS in a STEM discipline or BA in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Chemistry
2+ years’ engineering experience in a military or civilian environment
Related experience in logistics, sustainment, support plans, system fielding, proposals, integration, life cycle management or technical manual development
An active and in-scope Secret US Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance

An understanding of the use of the Technical Data Package (drawings, parts lists, interface control documents, and electrical schematics)
Familiarity with factory operations, procedures and depot flow activities

Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Broad knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) processes, including sustainment and supportability principles and concepts
