The Test Equipment & Environments Center (TE&EC), within the Systems Integration & Test Directorate. Within TE&EC, the Test Operations & Environments (TO&E) Department includes the Environmental Test (ET) organization. Environmental Test (ET) is an engineering organization that supports all missile programs across Raytheon Missile Defense. The Environmental Test (ET) organization provides testing capability for every phase of the product life cycle from prototype to production. Environmental testing includes mechanical shock, electrodynamic vibration, salt fog, climatic environments such as temperature, humidity, and altitude, high temperature quartz lamp testing, structural testing, and custom instrumentation installations and data acquisition support.
The Environmental Test (ET) department is seeking a Technical Support Engineer. The individual selected will be challenged with executing a variety of environmental tests, while working in an integrated product (IP) team environment with fellow Environmental Test (ET) Support Engineers, Test Engineers, and internal engineering customers. The Technical Support Engineer will work with the integrated product (IP) team to assist in developing the best methods for implementing tests to meet customer requirements and will assist with test design and setup, equipment control and monitoring, and data collection. The selected individual will assist with performing troubleshooting and adjustment of both the equipment and test setup when technical issues arise. The person selected for this position will report to the Environmental Test Operations Manager within the Systems Integration & Test Directorate. The candidate will work in a Multi-Program Closed Area.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Perform setup and teardown of equipment for testing engineering hardware on mechanical shock and electrodynamic vibration test systems as well as for climatic environmental chambers of testing for temperature, humidity, altitude and Highly Accelerated Life Tests (HALT)
Maintaining, troubleshooting, repair of hydraulic, vacuum, pneumatic, refrigeration, mechanical and electromechanical equipment
Maintaining, troubleshoot and repair environmental test chambers
Maintaining, troubleshoot, repair and alignment of various shaker systems including two and three axis shaker systems
Actively safeguard classified/proprietary material, hardware and documentation

Qualifications You Must Have:
Requires BS or BA degree or willing to consider two (2) years of directly related experience in lieu of everyone (1) year of education, plus two (2) years, or less of directly related professional experience
Previous work or academic experience setting up and troubleshooting either mechanical hardware, electrical instruments, or computer systems
Hands on experience using basic hand and power tools such as soldering iron, torque wrenches, electronic test equipment and alignment procedures
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel
US Citizenship is required
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications we value:
Experience setting up and troubleshooting signal conditioners and data acquisition system hardware and software such as Dewetron, Dewesoft, LabView, Agilent/Keysight Benchlink, Somat, or equivalent
Experience working with commercial environmental test equipment to include vibration test systems and thermal chambers to include environmental chambers
Experience working with vibration control systems and software such as UD APEX, Vibration Research, LMS, Crystal Instruments, or equivalent
Highly driven, motivated hands-on, self-starter
Analytical, problem solving and extremely detail oriented
