As the Senior Data Engineer within our Global Infrastructure Services group, you will be a major contributor in developing and leading data driven outcomes across enterprise productivity, collaboration, messaging, and mobile services within Raytheon Technologies. Your experience will be key in designing and contributing to solutions aimed at providing actionable insights into compliance and how services are used. In order to accomplish this, you will need to work closely with service and compliance leads to create data driven outcomes that inform our business partners and insight into compliance and controls. You will have a clear understanding of how to build and maintain the infrastructure required for extraction, transformation, loading of data, etc.

We are looking for someone that has proven analytical and problem-solving skills with internal business tools. Your knowledge of current data technologies and trends will be critical to driving insight to our service offerings and provide data for mitigation of vulnerabilities, issues, and risks. This role will partner with service owners, business leads, and other internal technical teams to define and deliver data needs. You will be working in a dynamic, high-performing, and highly visible environment.


  • Align to the Digital Strategy and digital productivity portfolios

  • Develop strategic roadmaps to drive capabilities, tools, and automation to support enterprise solutions

  • Work closely with service owners, tech teams, business stakeholders, and leaders to identify/understand requirements and translate these into effective solutions

  • Design data services that deliver strategic enterprise risk management data

  • Own end-to-end process for individual projects as well as overall project roadmap

  • Build and maintain the infrastructure required for extraction, transformation and loading of data from multiple data sources using custom scripting and SaaS technologies

  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependencies and model management

  • Data stores infrastructure management: data lake, data warehouses, scheduled jobs, querying tools

  • Design and build high performing and scalable data pipeline platform (Amazon S3, Apache Spark, etc..)

  • Create and maintain tools to monitor data quality and integrity

  • Perform periodic health checks and audits on all data stores, ETLs, ELTs and data consumption connections

  • Grow and manage team of data engineers, data analysts, etc..

  • Establish process effectiveness, efficiency, and continuous improvement


  • Eight (8) plus years of technical hands-on experience with data - management, modeling, integration, movement, analytics and cloud services

  • Five (5) plus years of software engineering experience (Java, Scala, Python, etc..)

  • Five (5) plus years of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) programming experience

  • Ability to create data pipelines using AWS and experience with big data technologies

  • Strong experience of EMR, Lambda, S3, EC2, etc..

  • Proficient with APIs, utilization of SDKs, and other tools

  • Managing, mentoring, and building out data centric resources

  • Technical understanding of Microsoft Office products

  • Exceptional analytical and leadership skills

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and process is a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


  • Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelors Degree +10yrs experience, or an Advanced Degree +7yrs experience.

  • Continuing education is a plus
