Location(s): Business centred around Harlow, Wyton, Feltham, Warminster, Gloucester and other sites, but for the right person we can be flexible
Summary of Role:
Reporting to the Managing Director of Cyber Space and Training (CST), this high-profile role will be responsible for leading the C4i mission area and associated P&L. This includes the execution of defence intelligence and geospatial intelligence programmes which develop, deliver and sustain operational capability of strategic importance for a UK MOD customer.
The Head of C4i must be able to work at all levels within Raytheon UK and US, partner companies and, most importantly, the military customer organisation by engaging with key stakeholders (internal and external), and identifying and addressing their needs and providing advanced technical solutions. Raytheon UK, and our partners in the wider Raytheon Technologies organisation, has developed a deep understanding of defence intelligence missions through its involvement in multiple UK and international programmes and has domain knowledge crucial to the success of our customers – we stand firm to our commitments, reflecting our high performance culture and focus on delivery.
The work location is flexible but is likely to involve frequent presence at customer as well as Raytheon sites in the UK and occasional travel to meet with our US partners.
This is a complex and challenging role that will be both highly rewarding and high profile, with extensive communication and interfacing requirements with MoD and other customer and partner organisations. It demands excellent interpersonal skills and high levels of energy and stamina. The role holder will be required to:
Be accountable for the delivery of the C4i AOP through flawless delivery of programmes and successful proposal work using approved techniques to ensure each contracted milestone is delivered to agreed performance, cost and schedule commitment
Lead and drive future business growth within the C4i Business
Identify emergent customer requirements and leverage customer decision-makers and influencers and their interrelationships throughout the capture process to assure capture is properly customer focused, planned and executed
Develop and execute customer engagement plans that address customer’s internal factors; external factors; and customer’s perceptions of Raytheon to shape procurement decisions and ensure customer success, successfully maintaining continuity of customer relationship through all phases of capture and transition to contract award
Create operational efficiencies in execution through compliance with, and effective process tailoring of approved capture and programme execution processes by leveraging lessons learned
Demonstrate ability to gain and maintain stakeholder buy-in and support, including commitment of right resources for plans and potential solutions, using proven financial management tools and techniques to deploy company investment and resources in a holistic manner to realize win strategy
Steer and guide capture and programme managers and their teams to develop proposal strategies, plans, and budgets and effectively transitions capture strategy to proposal strategy and then programme execution
Motivate the programme team to perform and deliver requirements, working in conjunction with other functional leaders to ensure that the resources required to support the programmes are available and are assigned to the appropriate tasks and duties, ensuring the Mission Area’s goals and objectives are clearly communicated, understood and achieved
Facilitate complex problem-solving initiatives. This will require a high technical competence and ability to think strategic solutions from the customers’ perspective
Work as a key and active member of the CST Leadership team, collaborating across the Business to achieve overall business goals and objectives and contributing to both short- and long-term business planning and forecasting
Significant experience in the Defence Intelligence Security Environment
ICT background with proven track record in programme delivery, managing client engagements and have served in key technical and/or management leadership positions.
Proven ability as a team player who works well with others and builds lasting, constructive relationships both with the customer and inside the business
Demonstrable experience of senior Customer stakeholder engagement specifically with military customers

Willing, eligible and able to achieve DV security clearance. Appointment to the role is subject to appropriate references and clearances required to undertake the role.
Degree in a relevant science, technology or engineering discipline or equivalent education and experience.
Familiarity with UK MOD policies and acquisition processes
Member of a relevant Engineering or Programme Management Professional Institution.
Established programme management experience delivering major, complex programmes. In particular, experience of Defence of Government Information Technology (IT) programmes would be an advantage
Established long-term experience of the UK GEOINT sector, including working with UK military and government agencies
