Raytheon Technologies Sr. Network Engineer in Kuwait

is seeking a

Sr. Network Engineer

to be responsible for complex layer-3 network engineering design and integration in a secure environment across a fiber backbone, utilizing Cisco and Juniper routers/switches, and skilled in best practices of layer-3 routing. The successful candidate will provide engineering support for the design, delivery and completion of technical tasks supporting the ARCENT mission area network and voice services.

In addition, the Network Engineer will participate in the installation, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, as well as provide end user training and documentation where required.

The Network Administrator will work independently with general long-term guidance and goals as directed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy & Planning

Collaborate with and brief department leaders to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs and recommend solutions as needed.

Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.

Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.

Acquisition & Deployment

Design and deploy LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including routers, switches, UPSs, and other related network hardware.

Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.

Implement new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.

Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and other Government contractors to secure network products and services. Experience with hands-on configuration, 100% STIG compliance is a must.

REQUIRED SKILLS

A minimum of 6 years professional experience.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

DoDD 8570 IAT Level 3 Compliance

Experience with WAN and LAN communications with a specialization in Cisco and /or Juniper based solutions.

CCNP certification, CCNA Certification or Juniper Equivalent

Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Cisco, Brocade, and Juniper routers; layer two/three switches, hardware and Cisco IOS/Brocade IOS/JUNOS.

Active Sec+ or better.

L2/3 transport protocols such as MPLS, LDP, RSVP, L3VPN, L2VPN, VPLS, etc.

L2 – L7 protocols such as Ethernet, IP, TCP, UDP, RTP, HTTP/S, FTP, SMB, etc. and the ability to analyze traffic flows of these protocols with packet analyzer utilities

Various L2 switching technologies/protocols to include STP/MSTP/RSTP, VXLAN, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, etc.

Enterprise Level IT Network Development/Design/Upgrade/Maintenance

Experience with VRFs, ACLs, DMVPN, VoIP, QoS, SNMP, VPC, and VSS

Demonstrated knowledge in Cisco Firewalls

Cisco IOS/NX-OS configuration and troubleshooting across multiple platforms including routers and switches

Experience with IPSEC and GRE tunnel configuration.

Capability to articulate a technical solution and demonstrate it on a whiteboard.

Experience with IP-multicast design and best practices.

Hands on experience with EGP and IGP routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP).

Network design and integration using Type-1 crypto devices.

Experience developing network diagrams using tools such as Microsoft Visio.

Must meet overseas medical deployment qualifications.

Must possess the willingness to travel with the military to locations throughout Southwest Asia, as required, to support the military customer at their location(s) via military air/land convoy.

Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

Ability to work in a bivouac environment.

Willing to travel to overseas locations for a 1 year unaccompanied deployment.

Must meet overseas medical deployment qualifications.

Must possess the willingness to travel with the military to locations throughout Southwest Asia, as required, to support the military customer at their location(s) via military air/land convoy.

Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

Willing to travel to overseas locations for a 1 year unaccompanied deployment.

Must have an Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret.

DESIRED SKILLS

Knowledge of network design "best practices" and the ability to independently troubleshoot complex MPLS issues.

Strong documentation skills - to be utilized for case management, knowledge capture, defect management and Trainings.

Very strong problem solving skills

Ability to recreate customer problems in lab in order to isolate the issue and resolve.

Proven crisis management skills, and the ability to excel under pressure.

Demonstrates excellence in customer-interaction, written and verbal communication, and assertive leadership.
