The Information Systems Technologist II position within the RMD Digital Technology (DT) organization is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Engineering Solutions (ES) organization which has a primary focus on management of engineering and scientific software for the business. This role will focus heavily on support of our core services used across all engineering disciplines (licensing, license metrics services, virtual development environment support, etc.). Another key responsibility will be administration and support of binary storage applications. This role will also be influential in helping to shape requirements for the Linux desktop environment as well as testing for major OS upgrades and patches, performance monitoring/troubleshooting. Additionally, this position will assist our infrastructure group with analysis and detailed planning to support major infrastructure upgrades.
The ideal candidate must be able to think both strategically and tactically by continuously improving upon our execution and processes used to manage our systems. The candidate must be able to work in a collaborative and virtual teaming environment as an engaged team member.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Installation, maintenance, and support of licenses servers
Monitoring and reporting on license usage
Update documentation on proper license service configurations and standards
Administering and supporting binary storage application
Maintaining virtualized environments with multiple cluster hosts
Linux application and infrastructure support
This position can be an Information Systems Technologist II (G07) or a Sr. Information Systems Technologist I (G08), based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience; OR minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 2 years of experience with implementation and use of license services (such as Revenera/FlexLM, Reprise, Sentinel, etc.) OR minimum of 2 years of experience with administering binary storage applications (such as Artifactory, Nexus); OR minimum of 2 years of experience with other client/server engineering, scientific or enterprise software in complex environments
Experience in defining and implementing valuable metrics
Previous work experience with Linux and Windows administration
Experience with programming/scripting languages
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:
Windows or Linux administration certifications
Experience with software license management compliance
Experience with Artifactory binary storage application
Experience with VMware VSphere (ESXi, vCenter, etc)
Familiarity with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
Experience leading projects and process improvement activities to completion with successful outcomes and delivery of desired results
Experience with installing, configuring, supporting and troubleshooting engineering, scientific or enterprise software in complex environments.
Experience implementing process automation to reduce cycle time and manual labor
Experience developing process documentation and training materials
