Pratt & Whitney’s West Palm Beach Facilities & Services organization is seeking a 1st shift senior supervisor to lead our electrical services and power distribution organization.
The selected candidate for this position will manage a team of approximately 15 hourly bargained employees along with a salary process planner responsible for maintaining and repairing all electrical and power distribution equipment at Pratt & Whitney’s West Palm Beach site. Additionally, they set and execute operational strategy (including continuous improvement initiatives), establish employee training plans and cadence and communication with leadership and employees.
Specifically, Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Aligning organizational performance to business metrics and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to achieve all departmental and organizational goals.
Directing day-to-day planning, execution, and controlling of resources (i.e., people, material, processes, technology, equipment) for the Electrical Services team.
Establishing and executing a project plan to complete all facility preventive maintenance activities on schedule. As a component, promptly assign and complete plant maintenance requests in coordination with process planner.
Serving as the primary interface with Florida Power & Light regarding site power distribution.
Applying continuous improvement tools of Raytheon Technologies’ operating system to increase team effectiveness, enhance electrical system reliability and properly manage repairable assets
Ensuring employees are adequately trained and work in a safe and environmentally sound manner exceeding all company requirements.
Successfully managing the hourly bargaining unit workforce by: (1) regularly communicating organizational goals and objectives; (2) holding team meetings with two-way dialogue to maintain a high level of trust between employees and management; and (3) consistently apply collective barging agreement requirements and policy/work rules
Bachelor's degree in a general field of study (engineering or business preferred) with 3+ years of work experience in engineering, facilities maintenance, or general business]
In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 7+ years of work experience in engineering, facilities maintenance, or general business
Technical knowledge of electrical and power distribution systems is a must (certification or direct hands-on experience, preferred)
Prior leadership of hourly production/maintenance employees (bargaining unit experience preferred)
Demonstrated skill and success in team leadership including facilitation and coaching.
Knowledge and prior application of continuous improvement tools/processes with measurable improvements in business performance
Strong interpersonal and communication skills -- verbal and written
Proven flexibility/adaptability in high stress, ambiguous environments Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel; SAP
