Raytheon Technologies Hardware Quality Engineer II in White Sands, New Mexico
Our Mission Capability Verification Center (MCVC) Mission Assurance (MA) organization enables engineering quality solutions, capabilities and services to the business. Most important is collaboration with our functional partners and customers (internal and external) to execute and solve problems quickly and efficiently. MA embeds itself throughout the Engineering lifecycle to prevent defects from reaching the warfighter and to ensure flawless program execution to meet quality, cost, schedule and technical objectives.
We have an opportunity for a Hardware (HW) Quality Engineer (QE) to join the Mission Assurance team located at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), NM. The MA Section is responsible to collaborate with Engineering and other functions to ensure work products are free from defects throughout the engineering lifecycle.
NOTE - this position can be either a Salary Grade G07 or Salary Grade G08 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, responsibilities and experience requirements for the position.
Assures product quality and effectiveness throughout the product life cycle
Ensures programs and core processes meet customer/end user objectives
Closes quality issues using application of quality sciences and teamwork
Inspects test mechanisms and conducts quality assurance activities
Monitors and/or audits program operations or core processes and grows others knowledge of quality standards, methods and procedures
Flexible to work across quality disciplines and provides surge capability to programs during key events
Works in hazardous environments exposed to energized equipment, radar radiation hazards, and unexploded ordnance
Assess Engineering work products (Peer Reviews, Design Reviews, Mission Planning, Configuration Control Boards, Code Reviews, Product Readiness and Sale, etc.) to identify and eliminate in-phase defects
Perform data analysis to drive root cause and correction action
Participate in test preparation and execution to ensure requirements verification
Investigate failures, participate in failure review boards, support failure investigation teams and drive root cause analysis
Drive continuous improvement
Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements through a working knowledge of the standards, company Policies, as well as RMD, MCVC, and Program command media
Minimum 2 years’ relevant quality engineering experience
Able to work long hours and/or weekends, when required, to meet program and mission objectives
Able to occasionally travel and work in remote sites to support program requirements
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience supporting Department of Defense development and or test programs as a quality engineer
Domain knowledge in field-testing
Ability to review, analyze, and ensure compliance of Technical Data Package elements to standards and guidelines
Effective verbal, written, networking and presentation skills across, down, and up in a matrixed team environment
Knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action processes and tools
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems
Existing Secret Clearance
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Computer Engineering, Systems, or related Engineering or Computer Science discipline)
