This position is for a Manufacturing Engineering technician who works under moderate supervision to provide technical support to engineers on a variety of engineering tasks. Performs basic to moderately complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects. Reviews illustration of workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, or machine utilization. Operates, inspects and maintains test setups and equipment to detect malfunctions. Conducts basic to moderately complex materials test and analysis. Collaborates with higher level support staff to confer with engineers on details and implications of test procedures and results.
Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks.
Plans and executes experiments and gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, manipulates and analyzes technical data, such as laboratory or material test results.
Aids in the planning and implementation of manufacturing engineering process changes or engineering design changes to support plant operations.
Updates and maintains drawings, reports and documentation including work instructions for operations, production equipment drawings and production equipment maintenance instructions.
Performs troubleshooting and continuous improvement involving the repairing, modification, and testing of electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, and production equipment such as laser welders and computerized test systems.
Maintains process controls to ensure equipment is performing to design specifications.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP, CAD (Solidworks, DraftSight, AutoCad, or relevant CAD software).
Basic knowledge of machine controls, hydraulics pneumatics and welding
Performs under general supervision, applies intermediate skills, may adapt new procedures, techniques, tools, etc. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. Solves basic problems. May assist in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of other employees.
Applies scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems to ensure compliance to production and product specifications across applicable operating conditions.
High School Diploma or AA/AS degree or other 2-year post high school training with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Must have proficient computer experience with MS Office
