This position is for an established professional in Industrial Engineering, who works autonomously with limited supervision, supports senior engineers in a range of activities associated with defining and evaluating problems, recommending solutions, and expediting production or logistics operations and processes to ensure quality control and reliability.
Establishes the physical layout of machinery and the most efficient sequence of operations and work flow. Plans the sequence of operations and procedures and documents manufacturing standard work and routings. Plans the allocation of resources, materials and personnel to establish maximum utilization of equipment. Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification or electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems. Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. May assist facilities engineers (planning and design of facilities) and materials logistics (packaging design).
Applies in depth knowledge in analytic methods or tools to understand, predict, or control logistics operations or processes.
Compiles operational data, develops cost or time estimates, schedules, or specifications to support the most efficient sequence of operations and work flow.
Prepares management reports to define and evaluate problems and recommend solutions.
Regulates and alters work flow schedules according to established manufacturing sequences, and lead times to expedite production operations.
Works closely with workers engaged in product development, completion, measurement, inspection, and testing activities to ensure quality control and reliability.
Knowledge and basic use of lean (ACE) and 6sigma tools including value stream mapping, standardized work, statistical capability and ANOVA analysis
Analyze workstations and layout for ergonomic concerns, solve ergonomics issues
Instrumental in all actions involving new Capital equipment, such as writing capital funding requests, Statement of Work & Validation requirements; interface with vendors, contractors from installation to production
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Science, Technology, Engineering or Math degree required.
Manufacturing and technical background preferred
Root Cause Analysis experience
ACE/Lean/Six Sigma Certification
